Help? Not meeting calories burned goal

insertnewfunnynamehere
edited December 2024 in Fitness and Exercise
Does anyone have any advice on how to meet the goal calories burned? What exercises work best for that? I find that I am doing my 30 minutes, but not burning nearly enough calories with just walking or a basic workout. When I take a yoga class I am hitting the calories burned goal, but it takes an hour and a half to do it! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    What is your daily goal?

Running at a 6mph (10 min mile) on the treadmill burns ABOUT 100 calories per mile, so that is 300 calories in 30 minutes...

Spinning, kickboxing and fast paced zumba, elliptical...about the same burn...

Calories burned, of course, depends on your weight and current fitness level...
  • Not up to running yet! I'm trying to reach 30 minutes/323 calories burned.

if you can up your workout time. you dont have to burn it all in 30 minutes i worry more about reaching my weekly goal that way i know that i have lost what they have recommended sometimes i have almost an hour a day and sometimes i dont but i do exceed my weekly calories burnt and i am still losing.

Try something that gets your heart rate up higher and keeps it there longer. I can't tell from your post how you are working out but here are some examples:

    - if you use a treadmill, speed it up and put it on a higher incline
    - if you are doing workout DVDs, try a more intense one than you are using (Jillian Michaels is pretty intense)
    - if you are walking outside, try intervals of jogging/running

Whatever you are doing, do it faster/harder.

    - do running intervals 30 second run/1.5 minute walk
    - increase your incline
    - work out with weights
    - try a new machine you've never tried before
