These no bake, quality protein, high-fiber bars are a cinch to make and perfect for weight-loss, weight management, and overall health. From Maximized Living Nutrition Plans by Dr. B.J. Har****.

INGREDIENTS

Base

2 cups almond flour

1 cup ground flax seed meal

½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)

3 scoops of chocolate NaturePro Whey Protein

½ cup of xylitol (or ¾ tsp pure powder stevia)

½ cup coconut oil

¼ cup organic butter

3 squares unsweetened chocolate

½ tsp pure vanilla

Chocolate Topping

4 squares unsweetened chocolate

2 tbsp of coconut oil

1 tbsp of organic butter

¼ cup of xylitol (or ¼ tsp of pure liquid stevia)

Preparation:
1.Place almonds meal, flax meal, shredded coconut, Nature Pro and xylitol (stevia) in a food processor.
2.Pulse until ground into meal
3.In a double boiler melt coconut oil, butter and 3 squares of unsweetened chocolate.
4.Once melted add vanilla to melted chocolate/coconut mixture.
5.Mix liquid chocolate with dry ingredients in a bowl until turns into a paste
6.Press mixture into an 8 x 8 glass baking dish.
7.Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour, until mixture hardens.
8.In a double boiler, heat butter and coconut oil until liquid.
9.Add xylitol (stevia) and heat and stir until dissolved
10.Add 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate. Stir until melted.
11.Pour melted chocolate over pressed mixture in glass dish. Return to refrigerator for at least until chocolate hardens.
12.Remove from refrigerator, cut into bars and serve. (If chocolate cracks when cutting, let soften for 10 minutes first)
13.Keep refrigerated. These also freeze well.

I'm going to try it with stevia, which should be just as delicious!
(Most grocery stores carry Truvia or Stevia in the Raw in the baking aisle and it's relatively affordable!)

Do you happen to know the calories per serving off-hand?

Lots of calories. This is the whole mix without the chocolate on top - though they do look yum.

I have truvia but that said liquid, would I be able to do the same thing with the granules?

thanks but I see you put the serving size as 1 so if you cut it into 16 pieces you would have a total of 193 calories/bar...not bad but not great either

At least it is all healthy stuff, and has the good fats in it, if you eat the good and right kind of fats your body will get rid of the junk faster. Thanks for the recipe, I will have to try that one out!
  • The 3099 calories is for the entire recipe. On an 8x8 pan I will assume you will cut 2"x2" square bars, so that should yield 16 bars per recipe, or 194 calories per bar.

Yep I just put it as one serving so people could decide for themselves how many pieces to cut. And that's without the chocolate on top.

You could always use greek yogurt, a banana mashed up, or applesauce to substract the heavy fat from the oil!

Sadly I don't know the counts on it

It's something I had tried at a Womens Lifestyle Show and they emailed out the recipe! I'll try and dig a little deeper and get back to everyone with the info if I can! :)

    Enjoy!!!

    *EDIT*
Posted before I finished reading the comments LOL Thanks for finding the counts!
