I am dissapointed!! I worked my *kitten* off this week doing p90x and entering my cal and staying under my 1200 mark only to lose 1.6 pounds. I figured I would of lost more being my first week and all. Little discouraging to say the least...but Ima gonna stick with it. I do feel 110 percent better but man would I of liked to see the scale go in the 150's. Okay...Im done pouting.

I'll take your 1.6 pound loss if you don't want it.
Seriously that's an awesome loss, I'm lucky to see half of that in a week. You might want to try eating a little bit more though, 1200 is hard to stick to and certainly you shouldn't be eating under 1200.0 -
Uhhhh 1.6 pounds in 1 week is alot!0

First 1.6 in 1 week is great! Congrats! Second I believe in eating exercise calories to fuel your body for your workouts, especially if you're weight training. For instance I eat 1800+ calories on average everyday giving me a NET around 1500. I have lost 104 lbs and am down to my last 40 and still losing an average of 1 lb per week, lost 2 last week. I'm losing fat, gaining strength, losing inches, I get to eat and not starve myself. The exercise calories are added back in because when you set up your profile a deficit is already built in so that a person could still lose with out doing an ounce of exercise. We are taught that eating low calorie will increase fat loss but it actually also increases muscle loss and slows metabolism. If you aren't measuring your workout burns with a HRM then I wouldn't suggest eating all earned calories but a good portion of them. I would also calculate your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and adjust your goals based off that. Good luck!0

I wish I could get 1.6...and under 1200 calories? You're eating way too little....0
-
It's a great loss but i think you may be too low in calories. Especially all that you burn during P90X0
-
I bet you another 1.6 pounds that you'll lose more if you start eating back your exercise calories and netting more than 1200 per day. Seriously. Search around the forums and you'll see TONS of threads on people having more success when they start eating a healthy number of calories.0

1.6 a week is good,
But you're probably not eating enough if you're unde 1200 calories and doing P90X..I would imagine that your net calories are pretty low after that..Try eating more. I know it sounds counter productive but it works.0 -
^^^This! Up your calories and you will probably lose a little more. However, 1.6 lbs in a week is GREAT!0
-
You're doing P90X. You definitely need to be eating more calories. Try to shoot for at least 1500, if not more.0
-
I looked at your diary and you should increase your calorie intake. Also track your sodium as you could be retaining water.0

id kill for a 1.6lb loss, why do people complain about this? id throw a damn party0
-
I see no point in trying to lose more than a pound a week, seeing that your goal is about 20 pounds away.0

1.6lb is a lot.....0

You shouldn't be eating under 1200 calories a day, and especially not if you're busting your butt with exercise.0
-
I'll take it!!! Please? :flowerforyou:0

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.
According to your profile you want to lose 25 pounds total (23 left to go). You should be trying to lose 0.5 to 1 lb a week. No more than that if you want to do it healthily.0 -

1.6 lbs is a great loss especially when you don't have far to go.
I looked at your diary, you really should be eating more. You are netting about 500-700 calories a day. That is not healthy!! Most of the time you don't have dinner (at least it's not logged) and you finish the day under your calorie goal by far too much. You need more fuel than 1,200 especially when you are doing a workout like P90X.0 -
Good start for the first week, its a good number to lose, a nice medium number between 0 and 3. Use your frustration as fuel for next week to kick butt0

Thanks everybody...and for those who want my 1.6 pounds lost Ive decided to keep it When i set up my profile it told me to stay at 1200 cal a day thats why I am doing that. I am not hungry though...its not like I am starving myself or anything...I guess its just trial and error..I appreciate everyones feedback though!! And Im looking for motivated friends too...add me if youd like!0

You should be eating the calories you burn through exercise though. The number you see at the top of the main screen when you log in should be as close to 0 at the end of the day as possible.0 -
But dont we exercise to burn cal to lose the weight?0

But dont we exercise to burn cal to lose the weight?
When you set up your profile here and the site gave you your daily calorie goal you are already eating at a deficit. That's why when you enter your exercise your calorie and macro goals change. You should be eating more when you exercise. Your body needs fuel to function.
Say you ate 1,200 calories today and you burned off 600 with various exercise.... your body really only has 600 to run on. That is not enough.
This site is designed to give you a calorie deficit to lose weight not including exercise. Exercise gives you bonus calories. You are still at a calorie deficit by eating those exercise calories. Fast weight loss isn't healthy... nor is not giving your body enough fuel to function properly.0 -
That's a lot!
I've been doing p90x2 for EIGHT WEEKS and I've only lost 1.5 lbs.0 -
I have to seriously resist the urge to get really annoyed with people who moan they are disappointed with a lose like that. 1.6 is a damn good loss for 1 week, lower your expectations0
-
I'll take that 1.6 lbs off your hands if you don't want it Kthnx!0

You and me both. It's not The Biggest Loser where you're going to drop 13 pounds a week.0 -
almost done my 3rd week and I've only lost a pound. :explode:0
-
And I have PMS, so anyone is likely to piss me off right now0
