cardio that does not require me to be on my feet?

Stupid flipping dog pulled me off the top step of my front porch trying to run behind my son. Now I have a mild sprained ankle. I have sprained my ankles soo many times over the years, its usually no big deal. But now I am exercising. I am on a roll here doing cardio every day for a week and a half. I don't want this silly ankle to stop me, but I know how much more damage I can do to it by walking on it too much before it is healed. Besides working on strength training right now, what kind of cardio could I do from a chair?

Cardio is just anything that will get your heart rate up. So do anything that involves moving and sweating. If this is just temporary try doing some "dancing" in the chair. You might look a little silly, but it won't be for long and you will get moving.
Doing low weights with a lot of fast reps and very little rest between sets will also get your heart rate up. You could even do modified squats holding your injured foot up.
If you have a gym membership, try swimming or riding a recumbent bike.

Swimming, and maybe some sit and be fit aerobics, I'd just google some ideas I'm sure there is mre out there than I've suggested.0

I agree with the swimming idea. You can even use water weights in the pool.0

This is perfect timing as I just really messed up my knee and I need to find some cardio that will not aggravate it more. I have been doing Turbo Fire for over a year and I will miss the good workout I get from it if I have to take a long rest period! I overused my knee last week because I am on spring break so I made good use of my time and worked out constantly. Now I am paying for it.0

punches, punches with weights, scissor kicks, geezzzz so many of my workouts need my feet this is harder than i thought. google is always a good answer....0

I'll be keeping an eye on this. Due to a back injury, I cannot walk or stand very long. Presently, I lean on my bistro-height table and do mini-lunges and side to side to music. I checked out the chair aerobics and may have to replace some music with my classic rock stuff, but I see some things that may work for me. Thanks.. and keep 'em coming! :bigsmile: :bigsmile:0

No, he didn't. He is just a 45 pound 6 month old baby. He was just excited.
I think I will google the sit and be fit thing. I should only be off it 2 or three days. The sprain is really mild this time. Thankfully I have lost quite a bit of weight already since last time I hurt it. Could have been waay worse.0
