dealing with ravenous hunger

I had a great first week here--dropped 5 lbs, and didn't find it nearly as painful as I thought I would--was feeling really pumped--but for some reason these last two days I've been ravenously hungry--even right after a meal. I'm getting more than enough calories, but it's like I'm unable to think of anything beyond my next snack. Any ideas?

What is 'more than enough' calories- can you give a number?

Eating more protein and fats can help you feel more full but this will be short-lived if your calories aren't correct.

Like 1500 net calories /day with a bunch of exercise. I am usually over in fat grams and under in carbs and protein. Just wondering if this is a temporary thing that I just have to endure for awhile or if I need to do something different

Make sure to have protein at every meal. Use veggies to fill you up and drink lots of water.

I'd go ahead and figure out your TDEE and see how far below that you are at 1500. If you're falling above a 20% difference between 1500 and your TDEE then re-evaluate your calories and go up if needed. I can't really say without seeing the numbers whether you're going to have to grin and bear it, make better choices or up your cals.

If you've got a lot of calorie-dense food then you might need to switch that out. A cup of nuts in 500+ cals while a cup of broccoli is 80 so partly it is a numbers/volume game. Getting more protein and carbs will help as well- definitely more protein. Eggs are great, chicken too. If you're a vegan/veggie then beans are going to be your big players.

    My extra tips are
    1) chew gum
    2) brush your teeth
    3) drink a diet soda

all these things keep me from snacking when I'm feeling especially hungry.
