I did a 13 hour shift today of bartending and serving! I only took a 1/2 hour break too! How many calories do I count that as?????

If I were you I would not count that as exercise. I know that bartending can get pretty hectic, but your heart rate is usually not consistently elavated. Sorry if I am a downer.0

i gotta say i disagree with the prior post, if this is not in your normal duties your rate will be higher. regardless of your heart rate being consistant (actually a consistant heart rate is NOT a good thing when burning calories, thats why runners sprint once in a while to give their heart rate a boost). the only way to tell is to wear one of those calorie burning watch thingys. i know what its like to work 13 hours with only 30 mins or less for break, its pretty obvious how drained it makes you. just hope your body got to burn the calories instead of being kicked into starvation mode.

ahh, well, that's a tough one. See, it's all about the heart rate. If your job (bartending) raises your heart rate normally, then it's part of your activity level, now if you go beyond (which you did) I would count it minimally (say maybe equivalent to a medium paced walk or a slow walk depending on how hectic you really were). Really it's almost impossible to tell without having an HRM, especially for something like this where the activity level can go up and down rapidly.0

I just logged it under the slowest walking pace. My normal day has any where from 4-7 hours so a 13 hour day is a boost. I cal'd up before I left for breakaset:sick: with a hhuuggeee salad and that keep me good till about 5pm. Then I went with my normal salmon and broc It still wore me out and im getting up right not to do a turn around shift:indifferent: See ya later gators! :happy:0
