I was wondering if anyone knew how accurate the estimated calorie burn for an arc machine or elliptical was?
I heard the machines generally over-estimated, so for example if it says I burned 425 Ill log in 400...
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks!

Well speaking from my experience, ever since I bought my HR Monitor (Polar FT60) the machines under estimated my calorie burn. One workout showed 130 calories more burned from my HR monitor than what it showed on the machine. So its kind of hard to say what the estimated burn on the machine is.
Even still a HR monitor may not be totally completely accurate either, its just a close proximation. HTH0 -
some are under some are over. like the elliptical machine for me underestimates big time compared to my hrm. probably because my body isnt used to it. but running, the machine over estimates it because im so used to it compared to what my hrm says... its just bog standard generalised views on burn. theres interperson variations!!!0
