Sorry, I have to vent.

A slim collegaue of mine met my best friend.
My best friend and I are similar in many ways( even how we look physically).

However, my best friend lost some weight (i am happy for her) and weighs 138 pounds where as i weigh 148.
When i told my colleague about how my best friend and I exchanged clothes, her comment was

'Your friend looks so slim, how did your clothes fit her?"

I mean really???? How do you talk to people like that. She is just a few pounds lighter than me.
Give me a break you skinny colleague.

Edited 'Skinny people' to 'skinny colleague'. Did not mean to be mean to all skinny people!

I dont think she was trying to be mean, honestly. Some people dont realize what they say until after they've said it. She could be thinking your friend is way skinny for all you know. Its not like she said you were huge.

Also, you seem pretty mean by saying "you skinny people" and lumping everyone thinner than you as one terrible person.

Low self esteem and a poor upbringing. Some people feel better about themselves if they can find fault with others. It's sad, really.

Some people just shouldn't open their mouths. I would never say something like that to someone. It's just rude and insensitive :(

they open their mouth before they think! sorry that happened but don't let it get you down, she probably has no idea that the comment hurt you especially if she is thin and has not had to struggle with weight.

You can't control people or what they say. You can only control YOUR reaction. You have to learn how to discard the stuff you can't use. You have to learn how to not let stuff like that affect you.

You control your thought and your feelings. Choose to forget about what that person said.
