Can someone please explain to me what the deal is with people putting the word "bump" when they post on a message? Thanks.

  It's to "bump" the post back on the top of the list, because they feel that it's an important issue.

  I think you're talking about "quoting" you do that with the links on the bottom right corner of each post.

  LOL, you're not the first to question the all mighty bump. I wrote up an explaination a LOOONG time ago for others who were questioning it, here it is.
