Why do you belong to a group and NOT participate in it? I see this a lot, just curious

then what's the point of joining? If it's not a private group, you can still watch

I'm in the foodie one.. I just keep forgetting to take pictures of my food. :-) Hopefully the crab cakes, coconut, ****ake and lime quinoa, mango salsa and mixed greens I have planned for Saturday make it on there.

The point, for me anyway, is if I'm a member, it shows up in my list of groups from the Community tab. I check that a couple times a day to see if there are new posts to read.

But I'm not one of those you mention...I'm quite active in my groups. Especially the ones I created. I just know, some people prefer to lurk.

Too busy...between my 1 spouse, 2 jobs, 3 children, 2 pets and 6 workouts per week, who has time for groups? I read other peoples posts now and then though.

I forget a lot, its about the same reason I will post on a thread and never come back to check it... I get busy, my mind goes elsewhere and then 3 months later I am like.. oh *kitten*.

I was in a few, they started out really well and active and then fell off. So I left them. Then I joined one, and the mod kicked me:( I love celebrating the Y

Just popping in to say hi. I'm an MFP group "groupie" and it makes me a little sad when groups die off from inactivity but I do my best to keep good ones alive and running. It would be awesome if someday MFP had a "You may like this group..." notification that pops up when you enter certain workouts or search certain topics on the message boards.... a groupie can dream

This. If I'm not told to check I forget.

No need to verbally whiplash me publicly just cause I haven't been doing my bathroom squats....

I'm only in two groups-1 related to a challenge where I am very active and 1 related to where I live (state) that I'm not active at all in. The few times I checked it it was more "where do you live?!?!" kinda stuff and not very exciting. Did find out today that I was somehow a member of the "getting pregnant naturally" group. WTF?!?!? I am so NOT having anymore children (naturally or any other way)! Not sure how that happened but I quickly left that group.
