Starbucks Frappuccino Homemade

I'm addicted to Starbucks, so I've been searching for ways to make similar drinks at home. So far I've done a Caramel Frap and a Java Chip Frap that are pretty good in taste when compared to the real thing. The xanthan gum gives it the right texture, and keeps it from melting to quickly.
The calories aren't spectacular (but we are talking sugary blended drink). I thought I would share for any fellow Starbucks frappuccino addicts who might be going broke like me.
By the way, both of these are 24 oz servings...which is a lot, could easily be cut into 2 servings, less calories and some to share with a friend.

Ya, I just wish I could get it to be less calories. I did make one that was 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water...it wasn't bad, but not as creamy. I do like that at least nutritional wise the homemade one came out ahead. LOL0 -
If you use almond milk it might cut the calories a bit. I use almond breeze unsweetened vanilla and it is 40cals a cup! Would be pretty good in a hazelnut frapp0

oops nvm i read further and saw that you suggested that already lol0

Ohhh you must have read my mind! Yesterday morning I wanted one of these. I hardly ever go there though b/c I am cheap! Plus I was looking for a lower cal version! Now I just need to go go grocery shopping and buy some of the ingredients! Thanks for sharing.0

I don't suppose that you have any that don't use instant coffee?? Only I don't like and can't stand the smell of coffee.0

I LOVE STARBUCKS!!!! I went the other day and got a tall mocha frapp and even the calories were outragous. But if I can make it at home I can certainly save money.0

One of my favorite wannabe-frappuccinos is combining:
1 scoop Spirutein strawberry protein powder (or any strawberry protein powder.. I like Spirutein because it's only 99 cals a scoop!)
8 ounces almond milk (35-45 cals)
1/3 cup frozen strawberries (30 calories or so, depending on brand)
This part is up to you: one banana sliced and frozen (100 cals)
or 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt (about 50 cals, depending on brand)
When using greek yogurt, add in 3 drops stevia extract to counteract the bitter flavor.
Blend in a Magic Bullet/blender. Pour right away into glass and top with whipped cream (or not. Maybe not!)
Banana version is about 270 calories (overestimated).
Greek yogurt version is about 215 calories (overestimated).
YUMMALICIOUS for those non-coffee, creme frappuccino fans!0 -
