no weight loss

I have been working out for about two months now. I started at 136 lbs. I have lost only 2 lbs. I am doing circuit training, which I just started a week ago. I exercise pretty hard, I think. Why haven't I lost any more weight? I am eating healthy. I haven't had any junk food at all. I was hoping to drop about 10 lbs within 2 months. Any suggestions? I don't want to get discouraged. Please help.

Well don't get discouraged... are you eating your exercise calories? You don't have very much to lose so it may be a little bit harder. 2 pounds is better than gaining! How are your clothes fitting? Plus, you must feel good... don't give up, stick with it

i agree with the above poster. people who weight more.. lose quicker. also you have to remember that muscle weighs more than fat!! so you must at least be getting tone right?0

My stomach area seems to be getting larger!!!! Not good. Every time I go out in public people seem to stare at that problem area. I guess my belly sticks out and I look pregnant!!! You would not believe how many ask me that question. I am almost 51 years old!!!! I'm not going to have anymore children!!! Those days are over. I just don't understand all this stuff quite yet. I am circuit training twice a week. My instructor tells me to stop looking at the scale, but asked if I were losing any inches. I don't think I am because my clothes are still tight. I started out great and now there is nothing happening. I don't know what I am doing wrong? I eat eggs whites, tuna fish, chicen breast with vegetables. I drink lots of water and I think that is why I feel bloated. But, why does my stomach seem to be getting larger?:sad:0

I'm not a doctor...but after reading your post my first thought was; maybe you should see your Dr.
It could be nothing, just a nice slow steady weight loss for someone who doesn't need to lose much, but if you haven't been in a while (like the last 2 months) maybe it's time to go get a check up.
Also, keep in mind that food is your fuel...so make sure you are eating not only healthy meals, but every few hours. Your body may need smaller amounts to digest properly.
Good luck!0 -
What are you doing for nutrition? Perhaps it is due to what you are eating (or not eating). How many caloried per day are you consuming? Are you eating "clean" (unprocessed foods) only?0

I am not going to assume everybody knows about calories and weight loss. Although I'm sure most all do. 1 lb of weight is 3500 calories. you must burn off your body a deficeit of 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. If you consume, say 1500 calories a day and your body needs 2000 a day then you will have that deficeit of 500. :drinker: So it takes 7 days of 500 deficeits to lose that lb. And what kind of calories you put in also makes a difference. If it is an overload of bad carbs and sugar then the body can slow down and store those calories. I have also learned that if you don't consume enough of the right calories like protein then the body metabolism will slow down when it realizes you are trying to starve it. Suppodedly you should increase your calories to 1500 if you are only eating around 1200 to get the body started again. It happened to me for 1 month. Make sure you are getting plenty of fiber and going poo regularly cause that will increase a belly bloat if you aren't. Drink lots of water. All impoortant for the whole process. The experts don't tell us that for fun. Keep that up and the water will feel better.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :flowerforyou: :smooched:0 -
I have been struggling with my weight for over 10 years now. I finally joined curves because my insurance will pay the membership if I go 8 times a month. I go 7 days a week at my lunch break and workout. I have been eatting healthy and drinking lots of water. I started back in Feb 2009 at 179 pounds. I now weight between 173 to 170 pounds. What I am finding is all the fat that has been building up through the years is now slowly turning to fat. I have not lost the weight as fast as I would of liked but I am sticking with it. I have to constantly remind myself I did not get this way overnight and it is going to take some time and effort to reach my goal of 150 pounds. I have been eatting between 1200 and 1400 calories per day. I am 5'5.5". How do you know how many calories you should eat in a day? Is there a formula to figure it out?

I think I am just confused about all this stuff. I was trying to eat 1200 calories, but then I go and burn off 500, according to the chart on here. So, when I get home does that mean I have to eat the 500 I just burned off? Doesn't make sense to me. I normally eat around 900-1100. I am 5'0" and weigh now 136. I gained two pounds back!!!! I drink a lot of water so I am not that hungry. I just need someone to tell me what I am supposed to eat!!!! I will NOT give up!0

Hey doll, we have all been there. I try to eat 6 small meals a day (every 2-3 hours), i never let myself get hungry. Once you start to get hungry your body will go into starvation mode and start to store foods as fats, no good. If you workout and enter what you do on here everyday, the website will calculate how many calories you have earned on top of your daily allotted amount. It is upto you if you want to eat or not, if you are not hungry, don't force yourself to eat, but don't hold back if you are. thats what those extra calories are for.
Because you are close enough to your goal weight, you will loose weight slower. I am about 243 now, 5'4" and 22 years old. I would lose weight nuch faster because it takes more calories for me to do my everyday stuff. Now i know that it is strange taking food advice from someone that is so overweight but it is coming directly from my fitness queen mother. She also is trying to loose that last few pounds and is struggling just like you, but they are coming off. I am going to add you as a friend here in a minute and I would love to keep in touch with you. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions and i will do my best to help you answer.0 -
Make sure your eating enough. 900 - 1000 calories is nowhere near enough for anyone.0
