I decided on the body media Its 10 per month I wanted to be able to track my sleep calories and steps I think body media is the only one that does all of this Plus JM recommends body media too0

What is this?0

I have the fitbit, 0 a month unless you want the preferred membership that adds reporting. It tracks steps, flights of stairs and sleep and it also synchs with MFP. I love it.0

I have a FitBit. It works very well with MFP. I use it all the time, even during sleep. It tracks all exercises and sedentary calories being burned. It even leaves messages for motivational purposes.0

Fitbit is $99 to buy and has no monthly fee. It tracks sleep, calories, activity levels, steps, mileage, flights of stairs, etc. It's fantastic and very worth the money.0

I have a fitbit, too. Love it!0

I have the fitbit ultra too... I agree with everyone above - I love it!0

I have a body media. I bought this before MFP started syncing with Fitbit. Probably if I had to do it over again I'd use Fitbit because of MFP.
However, the bodymedia gives a very accurate account of total calories burned--more accurate than Fitbit (is my understanding). It's the same thing as Bodybugg. Bodybugg is biggest loser's brand.
My only complaint is that you have to wear it on your arm, so unless you have on baggy sleeves, everyone knows you are wearing it.0 -

No extra fee. :-)0 -
My mind is telling me that I have GOT to buy a fitbit!!!0

I have the bodybugg (larger than the bodymedia) and I really like it. It straps onto my upper arm and I forget about it. I don't have to hit any buttons and it tracks everything I do. I have a very accurate picture of what I do in 24hrs. It is a bit price so I might suggest the bodymedia since it is a little cheaper. It doesn't sync with MFP but I just use it like a HRM to add exercise0

THANKS!! Been wanting to get one....finally this weekend!!! YAY!!0

DW & I both have FitBits, she did some major research before getting one and the fact that FitBit doesn't have a monthly charge and it syncs with MFP are huge bonuses.0

I have a Fitbit and LOVE IT!!!! It has helped me a lot with my weight lost so far.0

Love my fitbit!0

I have the fitbit and love it so much I bought one for my cousin, which she then lost (they are small). I looked, and I found a replacement for $30 on Craigslist. Amazon sells them for $89.
It has really made me move around more. I like that I walk enough stairs to = the world's tallest pencil, the statue of liberty, etc. I even park further away from the office to get extra points and work hard to be the one in my group with the most steps. Huge fan of fitbit. Plus, no fee after. They are also coming out with a wireless scale later this year that tracks everything including your water mass (or something along those lines) and sends it directly to the interwebs so you can track it and analyze the information.0 -
bodybugg is what I use. On their website it cost 160.00, but in stores like scheels about 130.00, I got the later model which works just the same and paid 80 for it new. There is no monthly fee, you wear it on your upper left arm on your tricep, it is very light weight and trackes teh calories you burn for everything you do as long as you wear it. You use a USB cable to hook it up with your computer and then yoo can see how many calories you burned during anytime of the day. The new bodybugg you can hook up with your smart phone. On bodybuggs website you can create a prgram specific to your needs and it lets you log your food, workouts, etc like MFP. I use bodbugg becuase it is most accurate with the calories you burn. I use MFP to log my food because they have a huge database of foods, and bodybugg does not on their website. Hope this helps!0

How do I link FitBit to MFP?0
-
how does fitbit know how many calories burned? I mean do you put your weight or anything in it?0

I love my fitbit as well. One thing I noticed though, I live in a very hilly area and run/walk a lot, fitbit seems to view the uphill as climbing stairs which to me is fine since my uphills here are steep and equivalent to stairs in my opinion. It also automatically adds to MFP your calories burn so you do not enter those anymore yourself. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out everything (I am not super savvy when it comes to electronic gadget, lol...)0

I have a fitbit, too. Love it!0

Love the Fitbit, buy, download the software, set it up and connect. I am so addicted, it will make you want to get up and walk more. The badges are such a great motivator and best of all, you only pay for the fitbit it's self. Sync it with MFP and eat more!
Perfect IMO.0 -
I've had the body bugg, and liked it but I LOVE the fitbit. It's small, hooks onto your bra, between your boobs. I've heard people leashing it but I've had no troubles keeping it on. It tracks everything that everyone has already stated, plus it updates your calories if you are above what MFP says you should be burning. So most days besides my exercise calories, I have a fitbit adjustment of sometimes up to 500 calories. It really just depends on how active my day is. I like that you can track your sleep, and that the food calories sync between the two programs. For me the Body Bugg was a little too big, it's hard to leave it on your arm the whole time, and I ended up getting a rash under it. With the fit bit it doesn't wrap around just clips. When doing the research they seemed about the same accuracy. When I work out I do wear a heart rate monitor with a chest strap to get the True amount of calories burned. I'm all "gadgeted up".
Hope this helps with your decision,

Liked body bugg. Cons are monthly fee and after a while it just got irritating to wear. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fitbit and how it syncs with MFP. Small and no one knows you are wearing it. I wear a HRM for workouts and log them in on MFP along with the time and Fitbit automatically adjusts its calories. Genius! And yes it does give you that little incentive to move more and get your badges. Silly but effective!0

Hey fitbit people - are you finding that your fitbit adjustment goes down between bedtime and the morning. I have and so keep finding i've overeaten slightly based on it.
Thanks0 -
For some reason I can't get my fitbit to sync with MFP. I see that it is syncing with the FITBIT sit but not to MFP so I know it's activated. Does anyone have any suggestions?0
