March 22, 2011 - about to drive a Ferrari 458 Italia to haul my butt around Las Vegas Speedway

March 24, 2012 - after using my own horsepower to haul my butt through a 5.5 mile Spartan Race!

And yes, those are my abs that my wet shirt is clinging to, I never thought I would actually be able to see them!
50 Pounds Gone
From 32% body fat to under 9%
From a high resting heart rate and high blood pressure to a resting heart rate of 40 and great blood pressure
2 weeks until my first official half marathon where I'm shooting for a 1:55 finish
I have more energy than I know what to do with!
I haven't been this weight since high school, and the weight is better proportioned now than it was then - I never wore 30" waist pants back then!

Thanks everyone! I didn't use MFP to reach my original goal, but it has been very helpful in this final push for abs since eating right is so critical for it. I love seeing everyone else's success stories, thought I would share mine!0

Awesome work, 50lbs is about my total weight loss goal. Started using MFP after I dropped 20lbs or so. I am down to my last 15 lbs now and have considered doing a Spartan Race, Tough Mudder or something along those lines. Again Great Job!!!0

Update, I ran my first half marathon today with a 1:47 finish. When I first started working out less than a year ago I couldn't run 1/2 a mile without feeling like I was going to die. I need a nap now0

Final NSV that I was really concerned about - my cholesterol has been high for years (and getting worse with each test). My last test was in July 2010 with:
Total - 234 (mildly high, would be high at 240)
LDL (bad cholesterol) - 172 (high)
HDL (good cholesterol) - 34 (low and consider a risk factor for heart disease)
Triglycerides - 138 (normal)
I was just tested last week and have turned things completely around:
Total - 191 (desirable)
LDL (bad cholesterol) - 133 (borderline high, normal is at 129)
HDL (good cholesterol) - 45 (normal)
Triglycerides - 63 (normal)
This was done completely through diet and exercise without ever touching a cholesterol drug. Hopefully this time next year things will look even better0 -
Way to go! I have cholesterol medication in my drawer that I am hoping I won't ever use since I am changing my ways. Thanks for the inspiration that I need.0
