I've a notion in my head that for every 20 pounds you gain you lose 1 inch in height. Of course this might have decreasing returns.

My question is, for those that have lost a lot of weight, have you noticed you are taller?

    I have heard that some who lose a lot of weight are actually shorter becasue there was actually boby on thier head and feet. There was an actor who lost close to 300lbs I think and he said he was 2 inches shorter.

    When I first read this I read "booby", not boby... this must be a non-american term..???

    I think your posture might improve with weight loss, but not your actual height.

    I gain about a half inch when I'm lighter.

    Because I have scoliosis, and i carry my weight on my midsection, which drags the curve of my spine down worse.

    So heavier = crippling back pain

    lighter = a little taller

    a good hour of yoga spine stretches can gain me a whole temporary inch!

    Well, I wouldn't figure you'd grow a foot, but maybe an inch or two?

    I enter traffic tickets in to the computer for a living. It just seems that a lot of people go from say 5'7" 160 to 5'6" 140, etc.
    Oh well. thanks for the responses!
