New to message board/Not enough calories to loose weight on

This is an excellent resource for tracking calories/carbs. I have been dieting and exercising for 4 weeks and I am having trouble eating enough calories to keep me out of starvation mode. With some serious workouts I'm averaging way under 1000 net calories.
I am having to learn that even though you want to loose the weight and are exercising like a fool- you MUST consume an appropriate number of calories to makeup for those calories burned.
This is such a strange concept to me. I have always thought if you didn't eat much AND exercised you would loose even more weight. But NOOOOO! That's not the way it works.

    A handful of nuts, a tablespoon of peanut butter, a glass of full fat milk. Just some of your easy-to-swallow high cal health options :)
