The ads are based on what you've viewed online. You like pizza, it shows you pizza ads. :)

You're about to see more of them because you just typed the word pizza. Everyone who visits your forum post will see more ads for pizza because they read it.

I'm guessing ads are targeted - browser cookies/history, items you've typed in search, cache.

Mine shows me diet, technology and workplace productivity ads. Occasionally clothes, never food.

I figured out that it would show what I was browsing so I browsed for exercise equipment , HRMs and a few other things I was interested in and now my ads are all things that I find encouraging and positive. Be proactive, use the system in your favor (and stop browsing pizza, )

Haha, me too...I know quite a few friends on here who see that ad...I know I personally do not have toenail fungus, nor have I ever looked up information on it!

I remember looking at Barnes & Noble's website for "new release DVDs" and they had Girls Gone Wild DVD's on the list...the next time I logged onto MFP, I saw ads for Girl's Gone Wild. Same with Reebok rainbow shoes...I googled them once, and now I see ads for them all the time.

I currently see ads for Chex cereal, which I hate and have never looked up information on, and protein shake mix...which I also am not a fan of.

Well that's makes sense why I've always seen Tempur-Pedic ads on everything I look at...I work for them hahah.

Now my need to buy a car.

Lol, I totally know what you mean. Five seconds after I look at jeans on oldnavy.com, MFP blasts me with tempting ads to buy the jeans.

Even more disturbing is the rotting banana ad entitled something like "5 foods you should never eat." What have I done to deserve that??
  • well i don't see any ads at all because i use Google chrome and i have 2 ad blockers installed on it so i don't get any of those. however before i had ad-blockers i would see ads for Lysol and bleach and i most certainly never looked up anything about those things.

I don't know, but I have done it too. I never click on ads, but I was so curious that I clicked on that one. For the life of me, I couldn't find the list of "5 foods."
