Confused with my eating/exercising

Ok, so MFP says that I should consume about 1400 calories a day. So every day I eat around 1300-1400 calories depending on my day, but then I work out, so it provides me to eat an extra 600 calories since I lost it by working out. Do I need to eat those calories back in order to stay around 1400? But if I do, then I don't see the point in working out if I have to eat them back. I'm confused ):

It depends on what your goal is. If you want to simply lose weight, then you don't need to eat the extra calories. If you are trying to increase muscle mass, then you don't want to go too far under your calorie goal. You want to consume extra protein and complex carbohydrates (yams, spinach, protein powder, etc.) to re-nourish your muscles and stimulate growth. At the very least, if you are burning off 600 calories a day through excercise, you should eat a little extra to replenish yourself. The weight will come off anyway. There's really no hurry.0
