Can someone please look at my diary...

And tell me how to up my cals? Today I didn't eat much because I was working at a wedding today and didn't really get a break. But I'm stuck at a plateau so I need to up my cals and to start losing weight.

Thank you!

I'm certainly no nutrtionist but I'd look at trying to increase protein for extra calories plus good nutrients and no extra fat or sugar. Maybe try adding a protein shake (or another one if your already having one) or extra almonds or nuts... Or even hard boiling some eggs for a quick, protein snack when your busy. I like to just drizzle some soy or worstershire sauce on a hard boiled egg for a quick yummy snack.

I would agree....focus on protein!! You are getting the best source of calories...and this will give you fuel to burn fat...

I like greek yogurt, protein bars, hard cheese, chicken, etc..

Forgot to mention I'm a vegetarian! And there is enough protein in fruits and veggies to get me through but I guess I can start having more shakes!

I'm thinking there may be more truth in this than you realise... Your just short on your protein goal today and, from what I've read on here, the protein goals on MFP are very low anyway. Perhaps you are just 'getting through'! Maybe try greek yoghurt instead of the low fat one your eating? I know this will have a higher fat content but yoghurt is so good and it sounds like greek yoghurt is even better protein wise! The fat content in yoghurt is pretty low really anyway and that will help get your calories up.

I haven't looked at your diary, but I have the same issue with trying to get my calories where they need to be especially when I workout. My trainer had me add at least 1 serving of nuts a day. It's a big bang for the buck so to speak. Around 170 calories for a quarter cup of macadamia nuts. Plus they are a yummy snack.

If you make your own protein shakes, try adding chia seeds and almond butter to them. I make an almond protein smoothie that my SO calls "The Almond Monster" and it has almost 600 calories in it!!! It's my favorite post workout smoothie.

The strained Greek Yogurt I eat, plain Fage Total 0%, doesn't have any fat in it. It has 7g of lactose and 18g of milk protein. However, it's not vegetarian.

I eat 20 almonds everyday (enough good fats) and add chai seeds to my protein pancakes. So yummy!

    Drink water!

The OP wants to increase her calories so I'm thinking water is probably not going to 'cut the mustard' so to speak!

I do need to drink more water though! Maybe add some honey to warm water at night, help fight cravings.
