Hello everybody. I have been trying to lose weight since the beginning of Feb 2012. I joined a gym (the membership however has to stop by the end of April so I have one month left) and decided to go out with friends a bit more than I usually would as I'm a stay at home person. I thought that without exams I would be stress free so I would be less likely to indulge but instead the opposite has happened and I've had many family problems which have led me to indulge in so much food which has made me put on more weight and so now I weigh more than I did in Jan 2012. Not only has this affected my confidence and self esteem but I feel that now I can't even go out of the house without being really really self conscious. The food has also affected my skin as now I have broken out in a lot of acne all over my face and new stretch marks that are so visible. I know there are many of you that have worse problems but going to high school and this being my last month at a school where I have been for the past 7 years, I thought I'd like to leave with a bit of confidence and make a lasting impression on my 18th birthday and prom which is in a month or two. I also have exams coming up which will prevent me from exercising a lot as I don't have much time on my hands. It would be much appreciated if you all can share your tips on how to stay on track and avoid comfort eating and an added bonus would be how you still keep going even when your mood is down. My will power is definitely at its weakest right now and I want this next month to count more than anything. I don't expect to see a dramatic change but it would be nice to feel good just before my exams, birthday and prom and my last summer with all of my friends before I head out. This has been affecting me for the past 2 years but kept thinking 'it will all go away by itself' and now I know it really won't unless I do something about it. Many thanks and much love x

I put on 30 pounds in the 3 years that I was working on my Master's degree. Late night studying/snacking was my downfall. My advice is DO NOT eat while studying or watching TV or reading. The "mindless eating" is what got me in trouble. Eat small meals/ snacks often. Do not wait until you are hungry- that's when I tend to make bad choices and my will power fails. Put the food you are going to eat on a plate and sit at a table to do it. Don't eat out of the bag or have the food on the table with you. If you put all the food away before you sit down to eat, you will be less likely to get up and get more. It looks as though you get up pretty early in the am. Are you in sports? If not, take a quick 15-20 min walk in the morning and get your metabolism going. My family life left a lot to be desired so I adopted the attitude that what I "became" would be IN SPITE of my circumstances, not as a result of. Do this for YOU! YOU CAN DO IT!0

ADD ME!!! I haven't been able to work out in about a month because I hurt my back but going to the doc on monday. I have actually lost 4 pds this month without working out by just staying under my calories. So even if you don't workout it is possible so don't think its not. It may be harder but its worth it. I can't wait to start working out again but for now I'm fine. Whats your calorie goal? mine is 1200. I even go over some days and I still don't eat right meaning healthy I just basically stay under my goal and yes I know that needs to change and I'm trying slowly. But it can be done girl so don't think it can't.
