the restaurant next to it. The restaurant is a dine in/carry out that serves Italian/pizza/grease food. To top it off the name of the restaurant is Fat Rickey's. lol I admit the food is great but right after your workout?:)

Hmmm, who knows, maybe they're trying to bulk like me? Or are most of them already big? They could also be the types that think just because they're throwing in exercise every once and awhile that they can eat whatever they want without even paying attention to calories in/calories out.0

A lot of the time I'll go from the gym to a restaurant but it's not fast food.
When your starving after a major cardio/weight lifting session, you will do anything to get your hands on food... or at least i will0 -
A couple years ago I got a membership at a gym and I thought since I was working out I could just eat whatever the hell I wanted and would lose weight. Didn't work. Lol.0

There is a WW near me next to a restaurant called Porky's. It's like a comedy show watching them go from WI to hot dogs and burgers at Porky's.0

i think that would make me sick if i were to do that right after working out. lol.0

Might be the other way around tho. Maybe they plan to hit up the restaurant and at the last minute decide to earn it by getting in a workout! HAHA!0

It all depends what they're doing.
Some professional athletes put away thousands of calories each day and look great...and, a lot of pizza and burger joints offer some form of relatively healthy option.
I had a friend (that knows I'm dieting) who caught me walking out of our neighborhood bar and grill. They gave me slack about it until I showed them my receipt for a veggie burger and a light beer. Then, of course, they gave me slack for eating a veggie burger and drinking light beer.

If youre going to dine out,the best time is immediately after your workout so you can take advantge of the afterburn0

Who knows...they may exercise at home and at the gym and have those extra calories to eat the things they still like to eat...I eat clean but yes I have cheat days and still lose weight...It's about what works for that person...I am sure they could probably get leaner quicker by leaving out greasy food but maybe they don't mind getting there a little bit slower and enjoy some things along the way...I've wanted a pina colada so badly for the last two months... but I know its loaded with sugar. That's what keeps me from it but one day...I'm going to do what I have to do to treat myself to it...0

There used to be a group of mums at my daughters junior school who would drop their kids off, go and spend 2 - 3 hours chatting/having breakfast and coffee at the gym cafe, until about 11. After this they would pop to the shop and then fetch their kids at 12:30. I always imagined them going home and telling their husband: "I spent 3 hours in the gym today!"0

Are the calories lower in the food if you go another time?0

I know I work out specifically so I can eat more. At least once a week is pizza night and I don't have to keep myself from eating more than one slice, sometimes I even eat three, because I always have enough calories after working out. It makes living a lifestyle very doable as opposed to dieting and depriving myself.0

Im from Chicago too. I LOVE Fat Ricky's. nom nom.
99% of the time I eat healthy but I will admit some days I put in an extra 30 mins on the treadmill so that I can enduldge in a coke or McDonalds breakfast. As long as its in my calories for the day right?0 -

Same here. I'm a foodie, i love to eat. That's never going to change. But it makes me work harder so I can go out and enjoy these things once in a while. Just look at my ticker, it's worked so far and I still enjoy lots of the things I had before, just in moderation and not everyday0 -
Went to taco bell and had two tacos yesterday after my workout. Hope nobody from my gym saw me or I might get judged on an internet forum! :noway:0

Lol! This makes me thing about the one gym by my house. it's like literally in between a Cluck U (amazing fried chicken place) and a Holy guacamole (amazing burrito place.) The gym is like 40$ a membership though. I'd rather have a planet fitness but there isn't one near me ):0

My gym has a cafe in it. However, once out the door, there's an Arby's on on side and a McDonald on the other. I see a lot of people go straight from the gym to one of them.0

My gym is right smack next to a China Buffet. I saw a couple walk out of the gym, go to their car, then walk into the buffet.
I guess at least they earned it...0 -
I can't lie... sometimes i workout just to eat0

My Jazzercise is directly across the street from the best bakery in town! The pavement is worn out in a direct line across, hahah.
I often stop in and get a focaccia after class for lunch. They also have to best coffee in town, artisan breads and friendly folks.
The smartest thing they ever did is open across the street from Jazzercise.0 -

haha, the hospital I work at has a fitness center. Right next door we have a Chinese restaurant, which shares a parking lot with Snap Fitness.
Yeah, a lot of ppl leave either fitness center and go straight to the restaurant to pick up dinner :-)0 -

Some good answers here. Yeah, I know I can eat a ton and eat anything after a good workout so it's a choir to make sure I don't over do it with the bad stuff.0
