I am running my first 5k tomorrow. I have been fighting the urge to do a light run tonight ( thinking half hour @ 5mph). Would that be smart or should I relax before the race?

Don't do it! I am also running a 5k tomorrow and decided to do a light, slow 2-mile run this morning. Now I'm sore and stiff, even though it was a very leisurely pace for me. Should have rested!!!

Do some yoga or pilates or something, but don't run. You'll be glad you didn't when you're feeling your best tomorrow!

PHEW! thanks for the advice and I hope you feel better tomorrow. I think I will do my just dance game for a little while instead lol. Good luck on your race!

I agree with cowansar. Always rest the day before your races. Good luck!

Another agree on the resting. I ran a 5K a couple of weeks ago and foolishly ran the day before. I still did well, but it was NOT easy.

Relax tonight. Tomorrow give it everything you've got. If you finish the race feeling like you couln't take another step then you left nothing on the race course. Good luck and have fun with it.
