I need to change up my breakfast routine ... can you offer a few healthy breakfast ideas around 300 calories? I prefer WHOLE foods (fruit, veggies, whole grains, milk, etc) to packaged. Thanks!

How about a shake? I make a protein shake in the AM after working out, and it tides me over very well till about 11.

    1 banana
    1/4 cup blueberries
1 rounded scoop Gold Standard Vanilla Whey Protein (low cal - great taste!)
    water or milk
= aprox 200 calories, more if you use milk.

    and YUMMY!
I also use peanut butter in my shakes, any berries, and sometimes oatmeal.

Dannon Light & Fit - Vanilla Non-Fat Yougurt, 6 oz
Quaker - Simple Harvest-Apples With Cinnamon, 1 packet

    All this equals- 230 calories

I don't know how whole this breakfast is. It is one of my favorites though. Adding a banana makes it even more tasty and filling.

I made this delicious breakfast sandwich the other day...so tasty! A whole grain English muffin, piece of cheddar cheese, and one scrambled egg (with a teaspoon of milk in it to make it fluffy). Filled me up for quite awhile and it was definitely less than 300 calories. I think it was 270 or something like that.
  • I've been doing 1 serving of Spoon Size Shredded Wheat (original), Special K, Honey Bunches of Oats or Wheaties with 1/2 cup skim milk and 1 cup of chopped melon, grapes, blueberries and strawberries on the side along with coffee. Used to do a banana for the fruit but noticed that cup of melon/berries a couple of times a day made some huge difference (droppped 2 pounds this week with only that change). :flowerforyou:

During the week i'll have oatmeal and fruit. Weekends i usually make an egg-white omelette with spinach and mushrooms. If i have the spare calories, i'll throw in some feta.

During the week I try to do a Maple/Brown Sugar packet of instant oatmeal with a scoop of Beverly Muscle Provider (Vanilla) and some blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. It gives you fruit, whole grains and protein. The calorie count is about 320 but I normally drink my coffee black so it's all good if you are working on a 400 calorie meal.

I toss them in with my eggs. Or make sandwich with a whole-wheat bagel or english muffin.
