Well here i am and ready to go.....i have seen the reprocussions of my bad eating decisions unfold into fat on my body that I cant stand. I used to be very very active playing mainly soccer but any sport I could get my hands on and when i left the college soccer ranks I didnt leave my eating habits behind. The years of eating the same but not working out and playing the same have quickly taken its toll on my body. I am a new father as of 2 1/2 weeks and I greatly want to be there for as long as I can with her. I don't want to be that father who cant get out there and play with his child and run with her because I get too winded or tired.
My ideal weight would be around 200 lbs so Its gonna a bumpy road full of work but I am ready. I know with a little encouragement I can reach my goal and live a happy healthy life with my baby and wife. I will post pics of my little bundle of joy soon but for now I must scorch your eyes with this starting pic that will serve as my motivation because so many people can see it. If anyone must gouge their eyes out because of it myself or this site cannot be held liable. Thank You and Good Day!!!!

Welcome to the site and congratz on the new baby. I think it's fantastic that you're changing some of those bad habits now so you'll be healthier for your kid and probably a whole lot happier with yourself. I find myself almost religiously checking the success stories for motivation. For some it comes off slow and other pretty fast but if you're patient and willing to do some work it does come off.

congrats on the new baby. good for you for wanting to get healthy for the little one. she's going to be around for a long long time and needs her daddy to be there with her. remember, each pound is a victory. away you go. you can do it.
  • Hey congratulations on the baby! I was thin all my life until my wife got pregnant, I got a desk job, helped my wife indulge in her food cravings and after the baby was born I kept eating whatever I wanted and not doing any exercise - I got fat before I even realised what was happening. Just out of curiosity I checked my BMI and was so shocked to see that I was borderline obese!

After that I was trying for months to lose weight, thinking that I was eating right and exercising right, but was always surprised when the scales never budged. MFPs been really great though, its shown me what is good to eat and wht are the most effective execrices and after less than 4 weeks of using this site I'm 1/3rd of the way to being a healthy weight again for the first time in over 2 years!

All the best, you can do this if you want it.
