How long did it take you to get to that point? I can walk extremely far but I'm still working on the running part. But it's only been a little over two weeks in of consistant exercise.

i want to say maybe 2 months? I've been trying to get into jogging since mid-jan but today was the first time trying it on the treadmill. I think I actually did it a few times before today but since i was just running around the neighborhood, I can't know for sure if I was able to keep it up for a full mile.

What helped me a ton was interval training. 2 min jog, 2 min walk and gradually upping the jogging time. just keep it up :) I'll be on the lookout for your first mile post in a few weeks!

You inspire me! I just finished the first day of the "Couch to 5k" workout regime.

Oh cool! I'm usually the one getting inspired so it feels pretty good to have done something to inspire someone else :D

Keep at it with the C25k! If you're like me and you hate running, it definitely starts sucking less the longer you can go without feeling like you're about to die :)

If your have a smartphone there is a great app you can download called MapMyRun. It tells you your speed, average speed, average pace and more. I highly recommend it!

That' excellent..You should try a 5k when you are ready, I did my first in Chicago and what a rush! I do a lot of little ones in the suburbs but the city ones are a blast, lots of hype! Good Luck and keep up the great work.
  • That is awesome!!! Congrats!! I hope to do that one day. :)
