Cosplaying?

I haven't been to a convention in 3 years, and I've never cosplayed in my life, but..... I'm seriously contemplating creating a Katniss Everdeen costume for Dragon*Con this year. I should be at my fitness goal by then. Anyone here cosplay? If so, how/when do you start on your costume??

    I have been Alexander Anderson (Hellsing) twice and Gambit (X-Men) once. It usually takes me about a month to get it completed.

    I started gathering things for my costume ages ago... But I still don't have it done, and Anime Central is at the end of April. I've been lazy. =(

    Her costume should be pretty easy to compile (unless you want to be on fire :D) go for it you'll look great ^^ I never cosplayed yet but I am planning to be either Samus aran (metroid games) or mayyyyyyyyybe Mileena (mortal kombat-IF i don;t chicken out on her's lol ) when I am at goal

    I love Katniss' hair styles!!! You will have such a blast with that.

    I would love to try cosplay. :) Maybe after a few months of weight lifting.

    i love cosplay but have never done it, i think conventions are major fun and i love everything anime or games, and of course its super hot to go look at the chicks! i always wanted to be auron from FF he fits my physique and personality pretty well.

    I've been cosplaying casually for a few years. I've cosplayed Riku (KH2), Ash Ketchum, Cake (Adventure Time), Kiba (Naruto), Sasuke (Naruto), Naruto (Naruto), Soubi (Loveless).....I'm sure I'm forgetting some :/

    When I was in my early teens my friends and I were in one of those youtube cosplay groups XD haha.

    Thanks for all the positive feedback, guys! My hair will be as long as hers by then, and I definitely HOPE to gain enough muscle by then to pull it off. I want to be as accurate as possible with it! I just need to find a decent bow and arrow...

    I've always wanted to play Ash Ketchum, but I could never pull off any male characters :( I wish!!
