I am not a trainer but have some friends who are and work as group exercise instructors.

Pros: Inspiring your clients and seeing progress and sucess knowing that you played a part
Cons: Little money and having to get up earlier to get your own workout in for yourself. The time you are working is for your clients and not you. Also working with clients who do not progress, due to no fault of your own, and bit$h about it all session!

bump! I could be a personal trainer like in the biggest loser and yell at people and probably make them hate me. I have two coworkers I am doing this for. They have both agreed they will allow me to yell at them and nag though :) I have considered doing this part-time though and would like any opinions on it

I think the pay kind of sucks from what I've seen and heard from trainers.

I'm still considering doing it, at least part time.
I think it would be rewarding to help people achieve their goals. But in reality, I think you end up with a bunch of dbags that aren't motivated.

I'm doing the training right now and love it. Can't wait to be certified. My plan is to go part time and keep up my current job for a while until i get proper experience then to set up my own gym.
