HeLLo! My name is Catherine aka Cat! I'm 25 years old. I am a wife and a mother of 2 beautiful girls! My life is truly blessed! But the only thing that is holding me back is this weight! Still carrying the baby weight from the first pregnancy! and she is 4! Well i weighed in 233lbs at my doctor's office sometime in july. My goal weight is to get down to around 140-150lb atleast! I started using the food diary Aug 4th and writing everything down i eat! even if it's not good! but that's okay cause i feel guilty about it and makes me want to stay motivated! but im on here to also meet people who are in the same boat as me. well i wish everybody goodluck on your journey and congrats to people who lost weight!

welcome to MFP. This is a very useful website, and there are a lot of good folks around here that will be supportive.
Just be true to yourself, work hard, and it will happen. YOU can do it, and we will all try to help :flowerforyou:0 -

Hi Cat, and welcome to THE best site on the web! :flowerforyou:
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:
As for exercise, it doesn't always have to be awful. For my exercise, I walk almost every day, (weather permitting!) I also dance to a fast oldies CD that my husband made up of all my favorite old songs. (Like "Love Shack", Wild, Wild West", "Mony, Mony", "Footloose", and "Gloria")
It's free, (unlike a gym!) fun, and I can even watch tv at the same time, so I never get bored!
I also recently aquired the Wii Fit, and jog to that, which is a lot of fun, and easy too!
So, to make a LONG story short, make good food choices, eat in moderation, get some exercise, and you WILL lose the weight that you want to!0 -

Thanks! :flowerforyou: i know i can do it! i lost like 20lbs when my husband was deployed i concentrated on myself and then my husband came home and got wayyy to comfortable and stopped! so now that we moved and got things settled now im trying to concentrate on myself to do this! but it's my motivation! but i think im going to take your advise about logging in my food before i sit down and eat it! that's smart! my mom lost weight by dancing to oldies she had a vhs of richard simmons sweating to the oldies! and she lost weight! i was thinking about picking up a dvd version of it and maybe a copy of tae bo! i love kickboxing cause sometimes i can't make it to the gym with limited child care and i shouldn't make excuses not to exercise! i use to take morning walks and evening walks and have stopped that! so it's all about motivating myself which i need to doo! well thanks for the advise! i appreciate it! i love MFP! cause i get to speak to people who are like me and have goals! so it makes me feel good to make right choices! well anymore good advise im opened to hear about them! keep in touch! take care! and good luck in your journey!
