I think the best movie I have seen in awhile without a doubt has to be Warrior. If you have not seen it check it out. It is like a Rocky based story but with mixed martial arts.

Act of Valor is another great movie.

I hate to be one of those people that don't answer to the point :P
But I really can't think right now of a "best" movie I've seen recently, instead there's a TV show, Game of Thrones, which I think is pretty brilliant.
Oh, ok, there's a catchy movie that came to my mind: The Departed. I haven't seen it recently, but I really liked it, it has some nice twists and turns.

The Descendants was fantastic. Dream House was decent. Oddly I enjoyed Tower Heist....I expected to hate it.

    21 Jump Street was hilarious.

Didn't even mind my fiancee was drooling over Channing Tatum the whole time. :grumble:

Rented the Human Centipede 1 & 2 to watch tonight!

ACT of Valor was the best by far I have seen in a long time.

Hunger games was good also. I didn't read the books (yet but plan on it)

Muoi: Legend of a Portrait. It's a Korean film but it takes place mostly in Vietnam. It's basically a Korean author gets lured to Vietnam by an old school friend who she ironically wrote a slandering book about who tells her about an old Vietnamese legend of a vengeful ghost named Muoi and helps her research the legend to write about it for her next book. It's not really your typical Asian Horror film and you're constantly guessing as to what's up, what the legend's about and the curse of the spirit. The ending you don't expect and it left a smirk on my face after I got over the minor surprise.
