    Carrot Cake Oatmeal

To your plain oats add (to taste) shredded carrot, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt, brown sugar (if needed), you can add milk or butter.
  • I add coconut, pineapple, and a little bit of vanilla... sometimes some truvia if I want it a little sweeter. DELISH!

My fave breakfast is 1/2 cup Oats cooked in water. Then I add 1T each of walnuts, ghirardeli semi sweet chocolate chips, and clover honey. It is about 370 calories and it is delicious. Of course now I can't eat oatmeal w/o chocolate because it just doesn't taste as good!

I eat the instant strawberries and cream oatmeal 130 calories and it is so good
  • I usually use stevia for sweetness, then I slice a medium banana over the oatmeal, and finally I top it off with some vanilla soy milk. The banana and vanilla go really well together, it's super tasty and satisfying!

Before I start making my oatmeal, I chop up an apple into small chunks, throw it in a cake pan, douse liberally with cinnamon, and toss it in the oven. About the time my oatmeal is done, the apples are ready to be mixed in.
    Great Idea!Sounds delicious!

My breakfast 5 mornings a week is 1/2 cup (before cooking) of oatmeal, 2 teaspoons of dark brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon with a cup of coffee and 8oz of orange juice. The brown sugar is only 15cal per teaspoon so I allow that since I have very little sugar throughout the day.

I use sugar free blackberry preserves, almond extract, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg, fresh fruit and dried fruit. Just use your imagination! There are endless things to add.

i use 1 packet of Stevia and a healthy dose of cinnamon...

not sure what your goal is here, but if you're trying to lose fat, i'd minimize the added sugar to the oatmeal...

make it with milk too vs water...

I add an ounce of dried fruit to mine every day. I buy "fruit bits" which is a bunch of different fruits chopped up small.

I make mine with half unsweetened vanilla soy milk and half water. Adds vary..... fresh banana, blueberries, raspberries, cinnamon, peanut or almond butter, whey protein powder, just depends on what I am feeling at the moment. Oh, and I don't use those lousy packets of instant oatmeal....take the time to make old fashioned oats or steel cut.

Honey is perfect food. Maple syrup is fantastic for you! Sliced bananas are great, strawberries are as well, blueberries, raspberries, homemade granola with almonds are super. Raisins and dates. I add all these ingredients to my steel cut oats every morning, except this morning cause I had eggs.

those are just the most interesting things i've used in my oatmeal but usually it's half a banana, whatever berries we have, and walnuts :')
  • puréed fruit instead of syrup. stewed apricots are good too. we use sultanas and manuka honey
  • I use organic liquid stevia.

Peanut butter and bananas or chopped dates is my favorite. I also love it with protein powder, cocoa, honey, craisins & stevia, chopped apples and cinnamon, blueberries and a teeny splash of heavy cream, nutella and chopped pecans.. I could go on forever.. I love oatmeal!
