Ground Turkey Recipes?!
So my mom went to costco and bought me 4 packs of 1.5lbs. of ground turkey. So currently, they are sitting in my freezer and I would LOVE some recipes for them. I only cook for 2. So far, the only thing I know how to cook with ground turkey is turkey burgers and ground turkey chili. Crock pot recipes would be a bonus!

I brown my turkey burger with Mrs Dash Seasoning's and some garlic & other seasoning's if you choose.I measure out my 4oz, and add a serving of brown rice with salsa it is really good. On other days i will use some kind of beans to mix in. If i have left over meat mixture i make a taco salad another day.0

Turkey meatloaf muffins!!! These ones are so good & easy to make (I'm pretty challenged in the kitchen and they were delicious for me-and I substituted some of the spices/ingredients)

The best meatballs EVER.
1 lbs ground turkey
1 cup italian style bread crumbs (I prefer Roundys)
1 egg
blend by hand (the only way to make a good meatball) Roll into 16 balls and bake uncovered at 375 about 25-30 minutes (longer if needed). Also works great as meatloaf. You can have your meatballs with spagetti, bbq, plain, or other sauce.
Good sauce for meatballs or cocktail winnies- one jar sugar free grape jelly and jar chili sauce, warm and pour over meatballs.0 -

HECK YES.... you can make TURKEY meat loaf, and impress the WORLD.
When people come over for dinner, they ask for this recipe all the time and the oatmeal is the secret.
1-1.5 lbs ground turkey
2 egg whites
.5 cup chopped onion
.5 cup chopped green pepper
.6 (2/3) cup plain oatmeal
salt to taste
pepper to taste
tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
a bottle of ketchup (not gonna use the whole bottle)
preheat oven to 350
mix ALL that good stuff together
It'll be squishy. form a loaf out of it.
place that bad boy in a lil baking pan.
squeeze ketchup in a zigzag over meat wad.
cover with foil.
put it in the oven... check on it.. takes about 45-60 mins (you can do this in the crock pot too.. it will take longer)
let it sit about 5-10 minutes, then serve.
*When it's done, drain drippings into a pan and add some ketchup, water, and Worcestershire sauce to drippings. Add a little pepper and all purpose flour. whisk and make a gravy. Pour it over loaf.

oh and cooking for two. I do it for my fiance and me. I use a pound of it and freeze the rest if I'm making stuff. I use a lb each time then I'll have a couple more lbs left over after I use a few packs, I love it. I just season it. I do 4-5oz burgers too and just measure it out. so I make one 5oz burger, and 2-4oz burgers, then store the other 7 oz. I add bbq sauce and seasonings and put a slice of cheese on top. I don't eat it on a bun just mix MW and mustard together to dip it in lol0

Anything you use ground beef in you can use the turkey in. If you mix a few seasonings in you can make turkey sausage and use that in egg muffins for breakfast.

Throw in a package of Lipton onion soup mix with a pound of turkey burger with an egg white or two to hold the patties together. And grill yourself some tasty hamburgers up. Supper yummy cause turkey burgers can be a bit bland.0

I get the same packages from Costco, so I know which ones you are referring to. I have made meatballs, spagheti sauce and hamburgers out it. However, our all time favorite is a Turkey Pizza! Yup thats what I said, Turkey Pizza. We cook one package and since there is only 2 of us, we each use 4 oz of ground turkey, veggies fried up in non stick skillet (of your choosing) I use red/yellow/green peppers, zucchini, red onion, mushrooms. Put 2 tablespoons of pasta sauce, pizza sauce or your own favorite sauce on a small 8" round Pita, top that with your 4 oz of turkey, veggies and top with 2 ounces of low fat reduced pizza cheese. Put them in the oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese has melted and walla...you have a Turkey Pizza. It has become our favorite and have it once a week on Saturday nights for date nights at home. Pizza and a Movie and lots of TLC! Enjoy
Forgot to mention, the left over cooked Turkey is measured out and put into ziploc bags and popped into the freezer. Easy breezy for the next time.0 -

stuffed bell peppers!!!! so delicious, fill with anything you want! I've made these before with just 3 whole peppers and about half a pound of ground beef but you could definitely substitute turkey. I've also use cannelini beans for a vegetarian version that was awesome.
EDIT: I change up the spices from that original recipe a fair amount...lots of garlic, crushed red pepper and italian seasoning. I also just sprinkle a little cheese on top rather than mixing it in so that I use less.0 -

I like to season the ground turkey like you would for tacos, brown in then put it in a pita pocket with some lettuce, tomatoe, avocado, taco sauce or pico de gallo you can also add some light sour cream if you want or you can make a taco salad and instead of the pita pocket add some kidney or pinto or black beans ......YUM, I also like to make turkey loaf, and taco soup.........0

defrost that turkey and brown it, throw in chopped red pepper, red onion, fresh garlic and 1/2 cup salsa. Pour it over healthy pasta of your choice.
also I put this in a corn tortilla casserole. Line the bottom of pan with corn tortillas (you have to tear the tortillas to make them into one whole layer) then layer the mix above with light mexican cheese on top then another layer of tortillas and so forth like lasagna then pour salsa over the top and bake 350 for 20 min. There is about 4-6 servings that you can use for a couple of meals.0 -
Amazing Turkey Meatloaf:
1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
1/4 cup grated carrots
1/2 cup onion
1 1/2 pound ground turkey
16 saltine crackers, finely crumbed
2 tbsp milk
2 large egg whites (I used one whole egg)
1/2 cup bottled chili sauce, divided (I used sweet chili sauce)
1-2 tbsp brown sugar (leave this out if you use sweet chili sauce)
1 tbsp vinegar (I leave this out)
1 tsp dried basil or oregano
Pepper
Spray skillet with non-stick spray (I used olive oil). Cookie veggies until tender.
Combine crackers, milk, 1/2 of chili sauce and egg whites (or whole egg); mix well. Add ground turkey, veggies and seasoning and mix.
The recipe recommended baking at 350 for 30 minutes (+15 after the sauce is added), I baked at 400 in a shallow pan. You can use a shallow baking dish, a loaf pan or muffin tins.
Combine remaining chili sauce, brown sugar (or leave out if you're using sweet chili sauce) and vinegar. Spoon over meatloaf for the last 15 minutes of baking.0 -

Stuffed peppers or Stuffed Cabbage,
Mix the turkey, cooked brown rice, and sauteed veggies of your choice (mushrooms, onions, peppers, diced zuchinni, etc...), top with tomato sauce and bake . Delicious.
I also make stuffed pepper soup (use all the ingredients above in a tomato broth based soup).
Sauteed vegetables with ground turkey served on whole grain wrap or pitas.0 -

I have converted to Turkey about 5 years now and love it! My fav is my wheat pasta spaghetti! See ingrediants below:
-Wheat pasta , cooked (spaghetti)
-turkey meat
-garlic, onion, bellpepper,mushroom, fresh tomatoes any veggie you love. I love zuchinni too- avoid canned veggies (sodium). I even add corn sometimes.
=Marinara sauce vs. tomato paste
-honey
Instructions:
In skillet heat olive oil, add teaspoon+ in pan, add veggies and sautee them (Love a bit of everything...add whatever you like.) Once they cook for about 5 min. add meat and brown.
Season w/garlic 'powder', fresh pepper, herbs like oregano, basil, thyme,rosemary (more the better). For seasoning you can use Mrs. Dash tokeep down sodium and I also add a dash of season-all or salt for flavor(up to you.)
Once meat starts to brown, add marinara sauce and add a tablespooon of honey for taste..yum!
Turn the heat on low and let simmer. This will let the herb flavors soak in..I love spaghetti the next day. even better!
With your noodles, just follow the directions and again , avoid a lot of salt. This can be lethal to water retention!
Once noodles done cooking, drain and put on plate, then add turkey /veggie sauce you made..yum! You can top w/ low fat shredded cheese for extra flavor! yum!!0
