what about that evaporated can juice whatever i read on the back of this kashi cluster cereal? does that count as sugar?

i heard alec baldwin (cause hes sooooo influential and important!) lost a ton of weight from avoiding sugar. ive lost 3 lbs...in just a few weeks. i thought it was because i was just sticking to my regular plan of counting calories, excersizing alot, drinking alot of water, and eating whole foods but i remembered that since i was caught stealing candy from a rite aid, ive pretty much stopped eating sugar all together. i wonder if that's helped? has that been the case with you guys?

So... you were caught a few weeks ago stealing candy at a rite aid and stopped eating Candy, and since then you've lost weight?

    Congrats!

I changed up my numbers to check my sugar level, I eat a lot of sugar because of the fruit intake I have now (and some sweets). I haven't seen it make a difference either way, but I just figured I would try and cut down on sugary things.

60 minutes had a feature with Dr. Sanjay Gupta over the weekend on some of the latest research on sugar. The data is showing that having too much sugar is really bad, and not just because of the extra calories. One of the studies had 2 groups of healthy college students eating the EXACT SAME amount of calories, except one group got 25% of their calories from added sugar. The group with higher sugar intake showed signs of increased risk of heart disease, higher LDL cholesterol, and higher tryglycerides in just two weeks.

I have read a lot about the issues with sugar on nutrition blogs online but this was the first time I saw it on a major network.
