Trouble with C-PAP machine

Hi! I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I just received my C-PAP machine. I love how incredibly refreshed I feel in the morning' though it still takes me a long time to fall asleep at night.
But I wake up with indentations across my face from having to strap the mask across my face tight enough to keep the pads in my noses. The indents don't go away for nearly an hour, which makes it impossible to do my morning make-up. I'm showing up at work with weird face every morning. How do you make those strap marks go away?

Please check with your respitory therapist and have them check InviraCare or Resperonics for a wider neoprene mask attachment. I used to deliver them when I worked for a medical company. There is also a couple straps that have the soft terry cloth material that wont cut in as much. Also make sure that the RP knows that you are unhappy with the straps. They will be able to make sure that what ever you decide to use will be safe and not reduce the effectiveness of the machine.
Do not worry about falling asleep faster... it is kinda like living next to railroad tracks. After a while you will not even hear the trains. You will start getting used to the cycling of the machine and it will become something that will make you sleep.
Good luck.

My hubby has a little mask that fits right around his nose. I've seen the noseplug type too; there are different options and absolutely work with your service provider until you find the one that works best for you.
Good luck! This is a nasty condition - my husband got so bad he fell asleep at red lights - while driving!0 -
I talked with my respiratory therapist today. Among other things, she recommended this website of a woman who makes fleece pads for all types of C-Pap machines. I ordered one, let you know how it works! The therapist says that she's recommended this to many of her clients and it's a very simple fix to the problem.0

Oops! Sorry I left off the website. It is http://www.padacheek.com . I couldn't decide which to order, so I ordered two different kinds (the cotton and the micro-fiber). I'll let you know how it works!0
