What is your opinion on it?

For example if a guy isn't a creep or anything but he says things like "well done babe" on your posts and things.. Do you like it? Do you think its appropriate/creepy?

Discuss :)

If a guy called me babe I'd be very creeped out by it...
  • Just like in the real world, men will flirt. It doesn't matter where you are, hun. Lol. I don't mind it until they take it too far. Just know the boundaries. :)

I don't think it's creepy. I would often call people hun or babes without even thinking about it.

I don't call anybody anything like that because I hate offending people, pretty much. Sometimes I'll be like, good job, lady! I don't care what anybody calls me though. Can't offend me really!

I guess as long as I'm not calling any women "sugar-tits" on here, I guess I'm not being creepy! Keep it on the DL, but my wife thinks it's cute when I call her that!

I wouldn't think twice about it. I call everyone babe... male or female lol. And it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if a guy called me babe cos I know it's just a word, like hun or something

I have to say, I don't use 'babe' or 'hun' and wouldn't even use those with my gf because I think they sound sickly coming from a guy to a girl, particularly for an English guy. Just reading it on the end of someone's message makes me cringe a bit.

Some lady's and gals my ageish call me sweetie here at work. The old lady's don't bother me but the gal my ageish is married and kinda makes me wonder. It kinda makes me feel uncomfortable.

It depends. Where I live everyone calls each other hun and babe so id not think twice about it. But if I were from an area where nobody used those terms id find it odd.

Doesn't bother me, in fact I do it unknowingly sometimes...

That changes however when they get creepy about it or stalk your profile and comments... then its just time to delete/block the freak!

It doesn't bother me when females call me something like "babe" or "hun".. Its just a bloke thing.

Guys closer to my age aren't too bad as it's probably more common whereas I get guys in their late 30's/40's calling me names like that.. The way I see it is pet names are for your SO, or flirting or for just general chat between women.. When a guy who is old enough to be your dad says something like "nice burn babe" it jsut gives me the creeps a little =/

I always say hun! It's a habit of mine...

    Example:

    Great burn, hun!

I do it mainly to woman in the most "friend only" way possible. :)

    LOL
  • I think for some it just a habit, some of my female fitpals say "babe" "hansome" ect.. but I don't take it as flirting

    Hun, yes...regularly.

Babe, never unless I'm emotionally attached to the person.

For myself...I don't mind any pet names.

Hahahaha! Sorry. It's been SUCH a long time since random men called me "Babe" or "Hun"... For the last few years, it's been "ma'am"... I'll take "Babe" or "Hun" back any day of the week! Besides. There are SO many worse things I could be called...

If you could be old enough to be my dad and you're calling me babe or any other term of endearment, you really need to stop.

This guy called me dude, it was pretty funny and awesome at the same time.
  • I call my friends on here hun or sweetie. I really don't think about it :P I wouldn't mind if someone did the same to me.

Personally I dont mind, however, im a southern girl, everyone is hun, sweety, darlin', or babe. Its just how we do things. I really dont see how any term of endearment would be seen as rude, as long as he/she isnt a creeper, but like I said thats just me!

If it's someone I've known for a while and like, I take it as a sign of friendship, from a male or from a female. The same goes when I use any term of endearment for people I respond to. If it's in a message from a stranger, I might be a little more cautious.

I kinda like the "pet" names. I have a few I've given pet names to, but they're not generic. My favorite would be one given to me. Two friends on here actually call me Garbear....I kinda like it!
