What did you give up for Lent?

I gave up wine for Lent - a silly, rash decision as I had St Patrick's Day, the first 'warm enough to bbq' spell of the year, and my birthday all within the No Wine For Lent period.

But I only have 4 days left to go and it's not really been THAT difficult... sure, I've missed it and I'm salivating at the thought of a glass on Sunday with some dry roasted peanuts, but I'm nosy by nature so....

What did you give up, why, and how did you do?

Alcohol (and believe me, being Irish, that is a hard one!) and takeaways!

I've been successful, and I still cant believe it!

Easter for me will go a little something like = two bottles of red wine, a whole dark chocolate Easter egg and a Chinese takeaway!

OR maybe not...as I'm finally seeing results. We'll see how the motivation is on said day

I gave up giving up stuff!

I love God and He loves me! And personally, I ask for forgiveness for my sins through prayer. I believe that giving up a steak or any meat on Friday isn't going to change the way the Lord feels about me and my actions, nor anyone elses! He loves me and the kind hearted, loving person that I am. A big juicy steak has nothing to do with that love I have for Him!

For the first time ever, I gave something up, and it was my beloved coffee. I thought it would be horrible, but after the first few days, it hasn't been bad. I am not sure I am even looking forward to having one. I am sleeping so much better and I am not as stressed.
