I recently started Bikram Yoga (26 postures in a room heated to 100 degrees with 60% humidity for 90 minutes). I was wondering if anyone knew how many calories to calculate this exercise. I've been reading online and have seen every range from 350 calories to 1000 calories. I went on a health site that calculates the calories you burn for exercise, taking your weight into consideration, and it said that I was burning 858 calories. That seems a little too good to be true

I actually really love it. I must admit, the heat is a little hard to get use to at first. But I would keep doing it even if I didn't burn any calories because I feel so good. I just want to make sure I don't negate all of the hard work though by eating too many calories everyday.

I love it too... I wore my hrm the first time I did it, I burned 240 calories. Thats probably not what you wanted to hear, it depends on the person but my heart rate just didn't really get up very high but it felt great!

I loved it too - I think we both got directed to the same site. I got a calorie burn reading of 1600... Absolutely ridiculous. Next time I go I'll wear my HRM.
