Warrior Dash

Ok so I signed up for the Warrior Dash on May 5th here in NM. How does one train for that? I mean I am fairly fit, can run a solid 5K, have participated in races before, but I seriously don’t think I can climb a rope to save my life!! What have others done to train for this?? I have one month to train so that I don’t die the day of!! Help!!

Lots of strength training. It really isn't that bad, I managed to do it and was not in great shape.

I have a friend that did it last year, and is planning to do it again this year. It's fun, and I'm told, not particularly challenging. He's a runner too.
  • I am curious too-i am doing one similar at the end of the month!

I am planning to do this as well this year in July...so BUMP for any more training advice.

I am working on strength training and general cardio but will try to run 3-4 miles as well to keep me going.

I did one last year (at age 50) and am doing another this year. The obstacles look way more scary in pictures than they really are. I honestly did not struggle with anything. I went in with the mindset that I might have to skip something, and I did them all. I did go very slowly on the tire run because I had a fear of turning my ankle but not because it was hard. There are all fitness levels doing these races. You'll have a blast!

Oh, don't expect to ever wear those sneakers again.
