Hi all! This is my first post to the board, so be gentle...

I ran my first half marathon Sunday...woohoo! Took me 2hours 56 minutes, but I finished! And it felt good.

What didn't feel good? Getting on the scale and seeing a half pound gain! UGH! But I'm trying to deal with it and just be proud of my accomplishment. I can't wait to do my next one!

The half pound gain would just be water (unless you ate 3 or 4 pizzas after the race) but congrats on finishing the half marathon, your race time is unimportant (my only competitor is me).

    This exactly.

    Congratulations on your race.

Agreed. I've reached the point where I never bother weighing myself after a race because of all of the water intake.

The fact that you finished is enough. The time it takes is the time it takes. No more. Plus, you finished a heck of a lot faster than everyone who never got off the couch and *started* it.
