So, I have been looking for another way to incorporate something else into my workout routine. I am currently on day 5 of the 30DS (for the second time) and I'm wanting a little more. I'm also an avid Call of Duty player, so I found a way to pass the time waiting for the game to play.
I do clean & presses between each game. I can do about 15 reps.
15 reps. Play. 15 reps. Play and so on.
Say I play for 40 minutes, that's 60 clean and presses!
SCORE!

That's cool! I spend a lot of time on the computer at home. I have a treadmill and made a simple desk for it to put my laptop on and just got Skyrim yesterday and am playing it while walking on the treadmill. It is slow walking but has to be better than sitting!

And more in line with your suggestion, two days ago I was doing a similar thing with squats. Every time I got up I'd do 10 or so squats. The main reason was that my knees have a pain under the kneecap if I go past a certain angle while bearing my weight (my google self diagnosis is chrondomalacia LOL). I was pretty bummed because I know how great squats and lunges are and could only do extremely miniature squats without that under the kneecap stab. Then the other day I noticed that I could squat down almost to parallel without that pain. So I kept doing them every time I got up to ensure myself it was real  . I'm so happy to know that this pain is "fixable" (as i went once to the doctor about it and he just said it was worn away cartilage and would not get better...i think it might just have been a muscle imbalance or weakness making my kneecaps not track right..another google diagnosis rofl). Anyway my butt and quads are still sore from all the squats I did two days ago  .

Good suggestion! I might try adding in some push ups or resistance band arm stuff in the same manner!

I do something similar to that except with video games and *kitten*.

Looks like we're ALMOST on the same page.

I did the x-box diet a couple of years ago.

Call of duty + stationary bike.

Every time I got killed I did a quick 15 second HIIT. I also hammered it while a new game was spinning up. I could easily do 60-90 mins a day.

I had a friend who I shared a WoW account with. He would get into shape by doing pushups every time he was on a flying mount or boat (back in the days of vanilla, when boats were still useful)... I lost weight by being too into the game to make food. All I ever ate was raw tofu and corn out of a can. Ah, unhealthy college years.

Call of duty + stationary bike.

I'm waiting for my bike to come in the mail so I can do SKYRIM+BIKE. XD

For now, I love playing things on the Wii.

    Serious answer now.
I used to do treadmill/elliptical stuff while watching sports. Would carry over well to gaming too.
For soccer games I'd pick a team, and I'd sprint when they had they made an attacking move, then slow down to a jog/slow walk while on defense. A 45 minute half was great conditioning.

With video games, we used to take a drink of beer everytime we died.
    More fun that way

    Oooh stationary bike!

I also like the idea of taking a drink of beer everytime you die.
I need to play that game with my husband!
  • Hello fellow gamers! Here's a workout that I did while playing call of duty mw 2( the best one!), and it makes the game better cause your blood is pumping and your much more into it. Basically when I started, I could do about 25 push-ups straight and after about 2 months of playing roughly every day for about an hour I could do 100 push-ups straight, no bs... here's how. While in a game online, I would have a routine that when I got killed from someone in front or to the side( cause I had a chance to shoot them as well), I would drop down and do 10 push-ups. Now, if I was shot from behind or killed by anything other than a gun or grenade I wouldn't do any push-ups. Now after a game lasting 10 mins or less, I could have easily done 60 to 100 push-ups. If I had a record of 20 kills to 17 deaths chances are 12 of those deaths I'm dropping to the ground. So give it a shot, I'm not a push-up king just a guy who thought HEY! Why don't I get my heart rate up during this kill fest. So give it a shot!!!! Also it's probably better for the team to play hardcore cause there's a spawn timer, cause core your probably gonna be pumping out 5 and 6 when your guy is spawned but hey! It's just a game!
