  • Sound a little like me - 33, 2 kids, and while I'm not obese, I'm just not happy with myself. And yeah, going from not tracking to seeing what you were eating - ew.

Check out some things you used to eat at restaurants... it made me cringe when I realized what I was doing. No wonder the pants got a little tight! lol

Welcome to mfp. The tracking has really helped me stay on track. Good luck on your journey.
  • Welcome to MFP! I don't have kids (yet...that's part of the reason I'm trying to lose my 100+ pounds) but I can definitely relate about wanting to feel better about the way that I look, and also just to feel better! Good luck to you, feel free to connect if you need a little extra support

Tracking food is real eye-opener. It is amazing to me how much better I feel since I've been eating less and doing more. Intellectually you know that's the case but to actually do it and see the results. GREAT!

Welcome to the MFP community. Lot's of support here. Have fun.

Welcome! And I wish you well. Before I started with MFP I had no idea of how many calories I would consume every day. It sure does keep you aware as it's so easy to eat thousands!

My first big tracking realisation was that I was getting through 500 calories a day in cups of milky tea!

Hello! I have been on MFP for about 4 weeks. Like so many others I had no idea I ate so many calories!! It sure makes you double think on what one will have for lunch/dinner. I have lost a total of 7 lbs and Inch on my waist and hips. I broke my weight lost into 3 phases or goals to keep it small and make me feel like I can reach my goal a lot faster. In toal I need to lose 67lbs - 60 now.

    Good luck to everyone!

Before today I really didn`t want to know how many calories I was eating..I think I probably would have fainted if I knew. Fast food and pregnancy is a bad combination.

I`m almost 32 and a stay at home mom now. Time to get into shape :)

Feel free to add me if you like.

It's true, EVERYONE CAN DO IT - it just takes dedication! But everyone should be dedicated to their health! Without your health, you have NOTHING!

You have a great attitude and that is half the battle. To me, weight loss and fitness is 80% or more mental. The rest is just mechanics. You can do this!

Aren't you a sweetheart. You have truly found the right place here. When you feel like falling off the wagon, log on. I promise it works. If you have a smartphone, download the app. Sometimes I'm less than a mile away from my favorite pizza place and one of my friends sends me something motivational and I just keep driving.

It's gonna happen buddy. Take Care.

Everything starts with the mindset. I think you have heard that a strong mind makes for a strong body. Faith in yourself and hard work will pay off for sure :)

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I'm 33 and have one child. I'm currently a stay-at-home Mom but I'll be re-entering the workplace shortly. I gained 50 pounds while pregnant with my daughter and haven't been able to lose it. I finally decided to get serious about losing weight and joined MFP about a week ago. I started working out and eating better on Monday and already I have received so much support and encouragement from my MFP family. I love this site and wish all of you the best of luck in your weight loss efforts. If any of you would like to become friends and support each other through this journey please feel free to add me!
  • thank you all again.. Im so happy to be here and you all are so supportive its awesome and yes puttin the app on ur smart phone is awesome for a few reasons.. yes helps u see OMG that has wayy to much calories but also if ur out n about but have to eat something n all that is next to u at the moment is like mc d'z pick up ur phone go to this app and put in mc donalds n then their list pops up n it tells u exactly how many calories is in something.. so then u wont feel so guilty but u know not to do that all the time cuz a nice home cooked meal is so much better then goin to fast food.. add me as ur friends so we can all keep eachother motivated =) I sure can use the help.. Message me any time Shev
