In daily h20 intake, does black coffee count??????

No. Coffee contains caffine which actually dehydrates you so it works against the water you take in.

so we're supposed to drink an extra cup of water
for every cup o' joe (or alcohol too). :grumble:0 -
This question comes up quite offten and I have done alot of searching on the internet and have come up with alot of differnt answeres but the one thing that they all agree on is they do not know where or when the 8 X 8 rule (8 oz glass of liquid 8 times) ever started. There are more articles than not say you should count coffee, tea, soda, lemonade, ect towards your fluid intake. I have included 3 links to some helpful info on this subject

First let me preface: I LOOOOOVE good coffee!!!! A cup or two in the morning of good, strong, flavorful, black coffee is a delight!
However, ten years ago, I lost 150 lbs. I began by changing what I eat... slowwwwwwlyyyyy. Eventually, I cut coffee out of my diet and the weight began to reeeeeally drop off. I've heard and found articles that confirm this, however, there is more out there that says coffee is "good" for you and helps with weight loss. I only know what happened with me, and several others that I know who did the same thing.
As a nutritionist and kinesiologist, a gallon of pure water per day is the recommendation and if one works out heavily, sweating profusely, then 2 gallons is not uncommon.
