I could totally stand to lose 6 pounds in two days. Let me think about it tonight and get back tomorrow. $20 really isn't that bad though. Have you done it before? Are you hungry at all? What do you mix it with to make the shake - water?

My interest is peaked. What does it taste like? Can I still take vitamins?

I'd be a little skeptical - only because it takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb.

So to lose 6 lbs you need a deficit of 21000 calories. I know for sure that I could not burn that many calories in two days.

It may be great as some kind of cleansing thing however! :)

Water loss. I can lose 5 lbs in 3 days by just drink 100 oz each day, eat no starch, very low sodium.

But, most likely that would be gained back pretty quickly, right?

You can drink tea and water but no food at all. And the weight loss of course varies person to person, but up to 6lbs.

There are 2 flavors Vanilla and Chocolate.

I am going to get Chocholate. And of course like anything else if you lose the weight and after start eating food your not suppose too then yeah youll gain it back.

By the way here's a bit more info that I got from it:

A greater sense of being slim and in control of your body*
    Total body cleansing*
A dramatic reduction of unhealthy cravings*
An invigorating, natural boost of energy*
An increase in weight loss from your fitness routine*

it also "allows your body to stop breaking down food so your natural calorie consumption machine can get "caught up" with the food in the pipeline, you'll immediately start burning off stored fat".

Plus, if it doesnt work you can return it and get your money back.

Just so everyone is clear weightloss does not equal fat loss. I think it is an important distinction.

The point about 6lbs = 21,000 cal defecit is a great one. Puts this into perspective.

The scale may go down after the 2 days but it is unlikely that you will really be losing much fat or that you will even keep the weight off. What is more likely is that you will be hungry, weak and grumpy and of course out $20.

I'd rather see my clothes getting loser and my body getting more toned than the graitifcation of a quick, temporary drop in the scale.

I'd rather eat healthy nutritious food. But that is just my 2 cents. Either way good luck and please keep us posted. Lot's of people ask questions about these types of things and it would be interesting to hear your experiences.:flowerforyou:

Wow ... what a load ... but great marketing I must say. But really this sounds to me like a bunch of nothing and really near impossible to measure.

A sense of being slim? I'd rather be slim and healthy and full.
Total body cleansing? What does this mean? Do they give details?
A dramatic reduction of unhealthy cravings. Like what? Pretty sure it couldn't break my dark chocolate or red wine addictions. Maybe what this means is you will not have unhealthy cravings because your body will be too busy craving things it actually needs and isn't getting.
An invigorating, natural boost of energy - Interesting but how?
An increase in weight loss from your fitness routine - well of course. Any calorie reduced diet + exercise = weight loss.

Plus, if it doesnt work you can return it and get your money back. -- What do they define as the terms of it working? Usually they will use terminology like "lose up to 6lbs guaranteed" but really this isn't promising anything at all, since it is saying 6lbs is the maximum weight loss guaranteed not the minimum.

Not trying to be a downer. Just trying to make sure your expectations are realistic.

Is being a coach for Beachbody a paid position? Not trying to put you in your place but I believe in full disclosure. What is Beachbody?

    thanks:smile:

Again like I said it is similar to drinking water for a day like there are other posts here.

Expensive water. If it is like water why bother if there are no additional benefits?
  • nehtaeh
    nehtaeh Posts: 2,849 Member
But the water thing isn't only water. People aren't not eating food. This is cutting everything else out and only doing the shake for two days. It would be much more similar to the lemonade cleanse thing, where you only drink lemonade for 5 days or whatever. That isn't even meant to be a weight loss thing, only a cleanse.

This means people are eating food, doesn't it?

I'm confused. Cleanses themselves are controversial but my main point was just to be clear that this is not a substitute for eating healthy and exercising and that it will not result in sustainable fat loss.

And based on benefits like "a sense of being slim" and "6lbs weight loss" it seems to be targeting people who want to slim down not people who are interested in a cleanse.

I'm just advocating realistic expectations and the marketing gimmicks we often fall victim to.

honestly i dont see how shakes and not eating can do GOOD for the body .... but to each their own ... hope it works out for you .... i know i love eating healthy thru out the day not taking some yucky powder drink
  • I actually did this Beachbody shake fast back in June...two days ...exactly as instructed -- it didn't taste bad, but I only lost 1 lb. I have lost more than that in 2 days just eating low carb. Just my opinion though...it may actually work for others.

Haha, yes that meanst that people are eating food. People eat food when they are talking about drinking lots of water during the day. They aren't purely drinking all that water and not eating. On this shake thing, you don't eat, you just do the shake for two days.

Yeah, i wouldn't mind losing 6 pounds. But, I know that i would be back to where I started from after a couple days. I really need to figure out a way for me to consistently eat better. That's a whole nother thread though.
