So I'm at work today and I ate the last piece of cake from the potluck we had yesterday. But before I did, I offered it to two other people who declined it. One of the two made his usual arrogant comments, because he can't simply say "no thank you". No, he has to make you feel bad about eating unhealthy things, so he gets to feel superior. He pointed out that he did not eat ANY cake, and would not eat any cake, and that I am weak if I choose to eat the cake. Guess what - I CHOSE TO EAT THE CAKE! Why? Well, I'll tell you - because this *$$#€£{'s opinion means NOTHING to me! It was all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing at him. Yes, he may be a thin person, but he has no clue about self restraint! He's a smoker, habitual gambler, a womanizer, and a leach on his father's business that hasn't had to apply an ounce of effort or dedication to an honest day's work in his entire 50-something-year-life!

On top of that, I've lost nearly 60 pounds! I'm sure he couldn't have done something that required that much STRENGTH!

HUH! Weak my *kitten* !!!

Ok, I'm done.

Thanks for listening.

No offense to smokers, gamblers and womanizers. (Unless you're going to call ME weak.)

Oh, wish you had a witty comeback to him, I dunno, I'm not good at that sort of thing, but something like "well, I'm glad you're not weak when it comes to food. Now if you could just apply that to other parts of your life, you'd be happy, huh?"

I never was one of those folks who could come up with the perfect zinger at the needed moment. Drat.
  • Let's see - not a smoker, not a womanizer but boy can I gamble! More power to ya!!!

I had something like this happen to me. We were having a birthday celebration in the office and there was cake involved. I logged my piece before going in. The person cutting the cake tried to scrape all the frosting off. She thought she was helping me, but my logging included the frosting. So I went over and used the knife to scrape my frosting back onto my piece of cake and she kept trying to keep me from my frosting. I finally told her to let me have my cake and frosting for goodness sake! Then a couple of people commented on how I was "fighting" this girl for my frosting. HELLO! I've lost this weight without anyone else policing what I eat. I don't need any help, thank you very much.

I really like the girl who was trying to "help" me and I know she wasn't trying to be mean. But dayum, don't get between me and my cake!

He probably cried over the cake he couldn't have. It goes right to his hips, whereas yours goes right to that backpack full of awesome you carry. Not everyone can have their cake and eat it too, man.

When I first started on here, I got a lot of crap from people because I was honestly logging when I had a cinnamon roll or what have you. One person got after me because I had a piece of cheesecake for my sister's birthday.

In my response to this person, I just stated that I was sorry that they were jealous of my ability to fit such things into my plan. I've lost 18+ pounds in the last three months and several inches, and I have not found myself skirting these sorts of things.

Granted, one day I surely will have to be "careful" so that I don't slip back into bad habits, but I'm finding that when I log it and take measures to allow for it, instead of avoid and avoid, it's a much more rewarding, satisfying, and positive experience.

If I were in your shoes, while he was lecturing me, I'd just take the fork, scrape off some frosting, and slowly, seductively slide it in and out of my mouth with a look of ecstasy on my face.

I'd have just told him that the cake isn't going to kill you. But the smoking will.

You GO GIRL!!! Also, CONGRATS on the 60lbs loss thus far. That is great and you should be very proud of yourself.
Tell skinny boy to go take a long walk off a short pier. Good luck on your continued healthy journey.
