Since last year I've gained over 10lbs and I've been trying for months to try and shift at least 5lbs but I'm finding it impossible. I think I exercise enough, sure I do fall off the diet wagon sometimes, maybe once a week but other than that I work really hard! I have no idea what I could be doing wrong.
Any thoughts or opinions would be so much appreciated, I'm just so frustrated...I really want to be back to the weight I was early last year.

Little hard to give you any kind of advice unless you:
1. Open your diary.
2. Tell us what your activity level is.
3. Your stats? Weight, Height, Age, etc?
Lots of questions that need answered.0 -

Hi thanks for your reply.
My diary is opened to the public
My activity level I would say is pretty active, I don't sit down much during the day and I try to exercise for at least an hour p/day. I do a mixture of weights and cardio but mainly cardio.
My height is 5'4 and my current weight is 117lbs, my goal weight is just over 110lbs because I have a very small frame and I just feel better and more confident at that weight. My age is 25.
thanks again!0 -
...
Because you weigh 117. You have hardly any weight to lose at all. It will not come off easily.0 -
Get rid of the processed foods and sweets. Add fruits and vegetables to your diet.0

It almost seems impossible at this point. I stay within my calories and exercise 5 days/week and still I can't seem to get below 147 pounds. My goal is 130, which seems reasonable for my 5'2" height, but I just don't know what else to do. I will admit that I have lost 3 pounds since I recently started mfp and eating back exercise calories, but I was hoping that it would happen a little quicker. 130 pounds should be a good goal weight for me!0

And I have a VERY clean and healthy diet and I don't eat processed foods. FRUSTRATING!0

Yea you pretty lean as it is so it will be harder to get more weight off.
Couple of things. Your diary is a little all over the place on some days. Also I would up your protein intake a bit, and eat a little less carbs. At your height and weight, eat about 1500 calories a day. Try to get atleast .75g of protein per lb of LBM. (Lean body mass)
If you dont know how to find this, there are formulas all over the place on this site and others to find it.
Make sure you're consistent on your diary. I see some days you didn't even log.0 -
keep adjusting your calories, eating back all of your burned calories may be too much try adjusting down 100 for a few days if you don't keep losing go the other way and adjust up0

The less weight you have to lose, the more you need to eat.
And if you think it is a "plateau" then I suggest eating at maintenance for a week. I did this for about a week and a half when I was stuck right about 140. I ended up losing about 1.5 pounds during that time. Now I definitely eat way more than I was before, AND I'm looking better and losing weight faster.0 -
weight train you will see huge measurement changes.0

As somebody else mentioned already, you're very close to your goal weight, which is always tough. You need a lot of patience. Looking at your diary, you also need to shift to fresh meat, fish, dairy, and produce. Most of your carbs are refined/starchy, which isn't a good idea. Also, you should be eating more protein--your body needs protein to burn fat, and you can eat up to 1 g of protein for each pound of your goal weight daily.
Hope this helps.0 -
I agree. Well, I recently joined this training group for a fitness challenge and one of the requirements is to walk 10,000 steps a day.. which is 5 miles a day. You don't have to put it into the myfitnesspal website its just to get you less sedentary. I suggest getting a pedometer, its actually fun at the end of the day hopping in the same spot trying to get the full steps.. i also suggest weights.. not heavy weights just light, because when you do weights you continue to burn the fat the day after even while you're not working out.0

I agree with sabinecbauer. Try getting away from the processed food try get more natural food. And see if it don't start to make that difference. Also when you are excersising make sure your sweating if your are not then your just not getting your body in the zone.0

I think in some foods you are UNDER estimating calories. For example, you have 4.5 slices of pizza with a total of 660 (approx) calories and I think it shoudl be more like 1200 calories for that much pizza. Also, a lot of sugar and coffee drinks. I fight with myself all the time too with the coffee but I just don't want to give it up so I skip breakfast almost everyday to compensate (I know, not good, but I'm working on it). You do have some healthy eating on some of your meals so maybe increase those types of meals and reduce the sugar and coffee :grumble:0

The only way I've been able to get below 117lbs at 5'2" is to cut the starchy carbs out most days and up my protein.0
