How are cuties weighed?

... or any citrus fruit for that matter?

Up until now, I have been just guestimating on nutrition info for fresh fruit - since everything has some margin of error anyway...

I'm guessing a clementine would be weighed without the peel if done correctly, right?

Reason I ask is because I picked up some "Baby Cuties" yesterday and figured I'd just grab the nutrition info off their site... However, for some reason - they don't mention the "baby" variety at all... ???

So ~ per their site (http://cutieskids.com/clementine-calories-nutrition), a 'regular' cutie shows:
Serving Size = 2 clementines (168g)

With that in mind, I went ahead and weighed an 'average' sized "Baby Cutie" with and without it's skin...
With skin, it was 42g (which turns out to be exactly 4 baby sized to equal one 168g serving)
Without skin, it was 33g (which turns out to be just a touch more than 5 baby sized to equal one 168g serving)

Again, I'm guessing the 168g serving they use is based off a peeled one; but, then I second guessed myself - since I know people that actually base their 'guestimates' off how much the fruit they bought weighed on the scales in the store...

Not a huge big deal ~ just figured I'd toss it out to see what y'all think...

Thx 'n have a great one!
:)

I completely get your line of thinking there.

I started by counting fruit by piece, but now that I can weigh with a scale, I have switched to all measured.

My suggestion is to weigh fruit without skin, as it is unlikely the nutrition infomation will ever include the peel.

And try to use generic; I was in the past for example trying to find calories for "grapes green unseeded".
    That is not necessary.
Just need to look for "grapes raw" and MFP will show you the a confimed value by hundreds on grapes, with several ways of doing this (piece, grams, etc)

So I would apply the same for cuties, and treat them as "Tangerines, (mandarin oranges) - Raw", which is a confirmed value by 98 persons !! and has measures by cup, serving, grams, etc

Thx ElPumaMex! Yeah, I finally got a scale about a month ago (been a member here for about three months or so...). I'm loving the scale 'n do usually use either "RAW" or "Generic" for fruits 'n veggies... I just hadn't had much reason to think about it - until I ended up buying a box of the cuties... hehe... I just wanted to be sure I was heading in the right direction... One or two here or there probably won't make a big difference; but, I try to log literally everything - to keep me from getting slack with paying attention to what I put in my body...

'n LOL @ Anayalata! I can see that... hehe... Would be a good question I suppose... ;)

Thanks y'all ~ your input is much appreciated!
... now I'm gonna go eat a couple cuties before I crash for the night... ;)
    Have a Great night/day! :D

I sent an email to the company that makes these, and I'm waiting for a reply. I don't know why they don't just put the information on the box.

I actually received an answer from a company representative: "Due to the unusual weather we experience in California earlier this year, our crop surprised us with the production of Baby Cuties. We pack our fruit as soon as they are picked which did not allow us time to produce nutritional information for this “one-time” variety."

She sent the nutritional information for the "regular cuties", so that should be an indication that the "babies" are just small cuties.
