Hi I'm new and I do South Beach but this site was recommended by another beacher for the food tracker and as well as what the whole site has to offer. As I work my way around I'm finding it more interesting....but I'm unclear about what it means by 1 unit of 1 lb of chicken?? I've eaten 2 oz for a breakfast and 3 oz for a lunch and dinner...how the heck do I calculate that??
I think I did pretty good on the other stuff but is there a cheat sheet to understand the measurements of calculations this site uses?
Thanks for any help offered, Mimzy:happy:

that confuses me too, I don't use that unit of measurement. I just enter the weight in grams (28g=1 oz)
Here's a conversion calculator to make it easier:

A lot of the database has been entered by members; sometimes the entries look weird. I often double check with another site if something looks not quite right.
But just in general: one pound is 16 ounces. One serving of meat is 2-3 ounces.
I go by the Canada Food Guide for serving sizes but I'm sure there are similar guides out in the US.
