    Hi, welcome! :flowerforyou:
My weigh in day has always been Tuesdays. I call it "Fat Tuesday"!
I wish us BOTH luck tomorrow morning! I MIGHT NOT lose, seeing as how I'm getting together with an old friend for an all you can eat Chinese buffet lunch! But, I got in lots of exercise, and will do some more after my luncheon, so MAYBE that'll help me come tomorrow morning!

Oh-oh - just did my weigh-in and I'm WAY up. Didnt see that coming. I had a bit of a blow out at the weekend with 1 portion of chips and some alcohol and cheese on toast, but I also did a good bit of exercise. Seriously convinced the scales I use at the pharmacy must have been recalibrated/ moved or something. My waist measurment is down, though the hips are up a little. :frown:

Flip it anyways - I really thought I was doing well. I even avoided the large birthday cake at work yesterday. I am really annoyed at myself now. Anyone got some inspirational thoughts to get me going again for this week?

Join the club, I gained a pound myself! :grumble:
But, with all I ate yesterday at an all you can eat buffet lunch, it's no wonder! I tried to offset it by doing TONS of exercise throughout the day, and also didn't have anything for supper other than a couple of peaches. But, it wasn't enough, I gained anyway! :grumble:
At least though, with MFP's helpful tools, the message boards, and all the wonderfully supportive members, I CAN get right back on track and hopefully lose that pound next week!
Sometimes I think about NOT weighing in every Tuesday, but, then I think about how much I COULD gain, so I make myself weigh in.
In your case, since you lost inches, maybe you're gain was due to your exercising, since muscle weighs more than fat.
Good luck to us both this next week! :drinker:

It's okay. :-) It's really easy to gain weight, and it could even be the fault of exercise! Haha. Well, at least exercise could've helped. Remember: muscle weighs more than fat! So, you might have put on a few pounds from the binging (which we are alllll entitled to), but there might also be some muscle added on in there. :-) Soooo it's not ALL bad.

Just keep on going at it. Trust me, I've fallen off the wagon SO many times. I'm recently just getting back on it. I had a pretty nice lookin' ticker on here. Haha. So I'm going to make sure I complete it this time.
  • So hope you are right about the exercise building muscle. I'm not the type that blames the scales normally - if I honestly believe I should be up then fair enough. I just feel so hard done by this week. I was really trying and honestly believed I was down. I thought my clothes were fitting a bit better and I was feeling good about myself. But 5lbs - yikes! That is A LOT to gain :frown:  surely I would have had to splurge every day and not do excercise all week? Can I please blame the scales now...!

Well, I picked myself up by the bootstraps yesterday and stuck to the MFP calories and did 70mins walking while pushing DD (aged 3.5 yrs) in the buggy - phew! (Mind you, thats what I did last week too, apart from Saturday night pints and Sunday oil/salt/ sweet stuff for the hangover :embarassed: ). Well the nuns will be proud of me this weekend - I am now holier than thou and will not touch the evil alcohol even if it :brokenheart:

Just wondering, as its my first week, could the excesses of the previous weeks still be catching up? Can it take a while to stop the gain and turn it around into a loss?
  • You know I'm in......
