It's great that you've found a way to make things like hot dogs for 340 calories, well done, seriously.
But for me, healthy versions of healthy food is the way to go, not lower calorie versions of unhealthy food. I'd rather not get back into the habit of eating what is, unless I plan to make it from scratch myself for the rest of my life, crap.
For me it's been far easier to enjoy eating real food.
But I meant what I said, well done, it's great for people who think it's a good idea to carry on eating that sort of stuff.
Maybe you could post your recipes?0 -
ep, I gotta know that I can have the things I love and not deny myself forever. I think I can make better choices like lower calorie less fat versions of my favs like CHILI DOGS!!!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!0

Way back when... When WW used the "food exchange" plan, I learned to modify almost any recipe to a healthy version. That would be just about anything within reason. Some things just can't get healthy and need to be limited. Most of those recipes I made in the early 90s and didn't photograph them, but I will next time I make any of them. Right now, this is my all time favorite recipe.. it is SO yummy. I have taken my own photo, below, but the recipe can be found at:

This is so lemony good, I'm almost drooling just thinking about it. I served it on 1/2 cup of Jasmine rice from a 90-second Uncle Ben's microwave pouch. You really should try it!
BTW: I make a lot of recipes from Cooking Light. Most of them are tasty and easy to make, not like many low cal recipes which are bland and boring.0 -
I just eat clean mostly all the time and then when I crave something I just eat the "real" thing then go back to eating clean. But I do try to "healthy up" everything I cook as much as possible...I also would love to see some recipes though.0

Oops! I made a mistake with the link in my previous post for Chicken Piccata. The correct recipe is Chicken Piccata with Orzo, in which I substituted Jasmine rice for the orzo. Here is the correct link for that recipe:

I have not made the recipe in the other post's link. Sorry!0
