Hi everyone.
I am a mom of 3 little boys 3 1/2, 2 1/2 and a 10 month old. I am trying to shed some baby weight and want to do it the "proper"
way.
Just looking for some tips..where are you getting all your recipes from and how do you get them to marry up here. For example I made hassleback potatos but I don't know if MY recipe equals the one on here?
And my food intake says GOAL + Food 636, Exercise 270 NET = 435 but says I have 740 calories left...so what is the NET about (FYI #'s aren't 100% as I don't have them in front of me)
One more thing...should I be eating all my calories..or is it okay to be under it. Not by a lot but a hundred or two?
Thanks for any and all the help.
Looking forward to a thinner me!

Go here ^^^^
And enter in all your ingredients and determine how many servings. It will give you all the nutritional information. Takes a bit of time but totally worth it! Also, wonderful and light recipes are found here: www.skinnytaste.com
I am a big Martha Stewart Everday Food fan...her food is mostly light but some are indulgent. The indulgent ones can be easily lightened up. Here's her website http://www.marthastewart.com/healthy-recipes
My husband is weirded out by some of the things as I'm cooking, but all I have to say is, "It's Martha Stewart's recipe," and he shuts up. We've learned to not doubt her cooking--only disliked 2-3 of her dishes.
The calorie thing I am also curious about and am still trying to figure out. Some people say eat all of your exercise calories while others do not eat the extra calories gained from exercise. I'm playing around and eating most of my exercise calories back right now to see. I also notice the more calories I take in help my speed when running/jogging.0 -
Welcome!
First, most people eat all of their calories. After reading message boards for about a month, that seems like the consistent message I keep reading. You could always just eat your initial goal (and not "eat back" your exercise cals) for the first few weeks, which will drop a bunch of weight, but eventually you'll probably plateau and need to eat all of those cals.
Second, there is a recipe function on here, under the food tab. It takes a few more seconds, but then you're cals are EXACT. And you usually end up re-eating certain recipes (for example, I have a fruit salad that is easier just to make a recipe of kiwi, mangos, pineapple, and strawberries once rather than manually entering those combos every week when I make that salad). I've also gone as far as entering homemade dough, pancakes, pretty much anything we make from scratch I manually enter the recipe. The one thing to watch out for is that you're still getting the ingredients from on here, but there is much less variation with basic ingredients (think canned beans, eggs, flour, butter, etc).

Hey there....Try skinnytaste.com if no one has mentioned it, its an awesome site and generally you can make the meals with fat free instead of low fat and they still taste great and lower the calories.0
