Hi! I'm one of many who brings my lunch to work to avoid all the unnecessary calories associated with all the fast food places around my work. I have TONS of food containers.. but nothing to house a salad! I'm wondering what MFP uses.. I don't need anything fancy to dispense my dressing for me, but I'd like the convenience of having a dressing container attached. Any suggestions? :ohwell:

This is what I use for my lunches: http://www.shopfitandfresh.com/detail/TCL+700522108368

It's got an ice pack and 2 smaller containers for dressing or toppings to keep fresh and separate until you're ready to use them. It's great.

I don't make my salad at home. I store the individual components in those type of containers ^^ and then cut everything up. I find this to be the best as everything is super fresh. I have these exact containers also. They are quite good in that everything stays chilled till you get to work and put it in the fridge.

There is a new one, I think zip lock makes it, it has a regular container for food and a little tiny container that fits in the lid of it for dip or dressing or whatever. I found them in the saran wrap/aluminum foil aisle of king soopers along with all the other reusable/disposable containers. I bet you could find them at the grocery store or walmart/target.

Check out this site on pintrist. Salad in a mason jar. http://www.neatpins.com/2012/03/mason-jar-salads.html
You put the dressing in the bottom and just shake the jar before you are ready to eat it. All in one container.

Also, for salads, Chop your lettuce and put it in a gallon zip loc bag, and add about a cup or two of water. Refrigerate and it keeps fresh and very crisp for almost a week. Lots of restaurants keep their lettuce fresh like this. That way, all you have to do is portion some out each day and it is all done ahead saving you time.

I use a 7-cup pyrex bowl for my salad (yes big bowl with a big salad but I <3 salad) and a tiny ziploc round container for my dressing salsa. You could just leave your dressing at work with a measuring spoon and measure it out when you eat.

I have that (it come without the container that has the weird brown thing) and it comes with a fork and knife. It's alright but that little container for the dressing is SUCH a pain to clean

I don't take lunch to work, but I weigh out my salad dressings each week, so that I don't have to weigh or measure each time I have a salad.

My friend had a baby, and I use some of the old baby food jars, they are just right, glass not plastic (which I like) screw tops and they go in the dishwasher. I put the jar on the scale, press zero, then pour in 1 oz of dressing...easy:) Small enough to put in your lunch bag probably

I just use a large large large Rubbermaid serving bowl for my salad - salad is my main food at lunch because I work 2nd shift so it is actually dinner. Then, like others have mentioned I have a very small 2 oz. container that I keep for the dressing. I got a bunch of those from Tupperware a few years ago and Rubbermaid also has the really small "side" containers. There are refrigerators at my workplace so I don't have to worry about refrigerated dishes.

I know that tupperware make a nice salad bowl with a place for your fork and I believe your dressing. If not, I think that most walmarts have little tiny rubbermade cups that would work good for dressings

I just use the cheap ziploc containers for my salad. I prefer the square ones as the fit my lunch bag better. I did find an interesting container for my dressing, You can get little plastic paint containers at the hobby store that hold an ounce or two. The ones I got are one ounce about the size of a 35mm film canister, I don't have to measure, it's a perfect serving.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone. I really like the Ziploc baggie idea! I work at a large campus of people who bring tons of stuff.. from my experience, if your lunch isn't in your bag it'll be gone by the time you take your lunch break. I'll try some of these, thanks!!

I use the Pryex containers as well (glass), they can be sort of heavy to carry in - but I just worry with the use of so much plastic. Then I use smaller containers to carry in my dressing and I put a bottle in our work fridge.
